This restaurant is a quiet place that has absolutely delicious food. I ordered surf and turf and which they were able to accommodate instead of crab legs I was able to get scallops in which I got more than three, which was outstanding. Highly recommended if you are in St. Simons Island and you are looking for seafood . Space is limited on seating though.

My husband and I moved here on a Sunday night in 1983. The Frederica House was one of the few restaurants open. We had a terrific experience: the food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and ambiance was cozy; we were hooked from that time on. John, Tom, and the waiters are all extraordinary. I amproud to say that it’s still our favorite restaurant! Congratulations to the owners, and the staff. I must say this: we still consider it the best restaurant of all time.

We emailed to make a reservation and recieved a reply within the hour. We were seated upstairs and loved the quieter option and great view of the restaurant. The story on the cover of the menu wxplaining the wood walls was very interesting. Our server was great and everything came out quickly and correct. The fried shrimp was our favorite. We also tried fried scallops and chicken alfredo. The breadstick that came with the pasta was really yummy.

You must try Fred House when you visit SSI! The hush puppies are the BEST you’ll ever have. They’ve perfected their recipe. Fried shrimp is always a winner and you can never go wrong with their flounder!Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp for wheelchairs with easy access to downstairs seating.

I ordered the crab cakes and they were terrible! Tasted like canned crab meat and Not one piece of lump meat to be found. The frozen crab cakes from Costco are 10 times better! The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Love this place and always have. The service was great. She forgot my salad and took a while to get it to me. However, the rest of her service, the amazing food and atmosphere more than made up for that minor mistake. I could eat here every night!
Seated promptly per our reservation. Slow service but that is very where right now. Decor is straight from the 90s…..vey dated. Ordered an Old Fashion which was horrible…… no orange peel or Luxardo Cherry….. just a horrible drink….disgustingly sweet. Ordered the filet and fried shrimp. Steak was cooked well but had absolutely no flavor. Shrimp came out boiled……not fried as I ordered. Figured it was healthier for me so I ate it….. had to dip it in cocktail sauce for flavor. Shrimp on both our orders were overcooked. Green beans were solid. Wife ordered the garlic shrimp. Don’t waste your money……. No flavor and zero sauce….. if you want this dish…. Head to Schucks in Brunswick….they do it right for a much better price. Service was slow so they comped us a random dessert…… frozen peanut butter/ chocolate junk……..absolute garbage. We live in the neighborhood across the street……will NEVER be back unless they make some serious changes.
