Great spot for a date night or a large get together. Shrimp and grits were flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service was better than average, we sat at a high top in the bar and it appeared our server had to walk across the restaurant to wait on other tables. It made service slow, but I don't blame her. The crab bisque was done just right and not too rich, like many places. Reservations were spot-on for seating time. Overall excellent for a good night out.
The food at Halyards is always fabulous. However, this time I ordered the fresh fish which was delicious, but I didn't like the highly herbed rice and vegetables underneath it
I can always count on Halyards to be great. Food, service and atmosphere is perfect. Anytime I have out of town guests it's the first place I take them ... never disappoints ! Thank you.
Upscale restaurant with great service, accommodating staff and wonderful menu options.

It has been a number of years since we last ate at Halyards, so we had great expectations based on prior experience, and they did not disappoint. Accommodated a 7 person group to celebrate our niece's 19th birthday. Food was impeccable and service was top-notch.
Katie & Kurt waited on us. Wonderfully professional, pleasant, knowledgeable & attentive. Great food, as usual. This is why we keep coming back.
Had some Shrimp and Grits from the festival and it was probably some of the worst I’ve ever tasted. I had such high hopes based on the description on the sign. For $16 I expected double than what was in the sampler but that also was not the case. The shrimp were a good size but lacked ANY flavor, and the grits were the worst thing I’ve tasted. They were watered down and literally had none of the things they stated they were supposed to in them. Think watery grit soup without salt even. We also had the brisket sandwich which wasn’t as terrible as the shrimp and grits but that was the entire reason we went to the festival. Very disappointed.

Friday, 10/24/25, excellent service and meals thanks to the top service from the staff. A particular thank you to Katherine D for her engaging personality and hard work.
First time but definitely not the last time I have had fish ice cream cones. Unique creativity is appreciated.

We had been there a few years ago and it was really good. This time it wasn't as busy but the service was slow. Our meals took forever and then mine was luke warn to cold. So we ate separately as it too 15 minutes for my meal to be redone.
Worst ribeye I have ever had. Service level had much to be desired - everything from interrupting conversations to disappearing completely to bringing check without asking us if food was good or whether we wanted dessert or anything else. Attempted to politely provide feedback to wait staff and received no response. Expensive for poor food quality and service.

The service was amazing. The cioppino was full of seafood. It was the best I ever had.

Had a great dinner...sat at the 4 top in the bar and it's nice cozy spot. Our server Jason was excellent. ..prompt, efficient, friendly but also left us to chat. Watermelon salad was excellent and am glad you can do half order of salads.
Had “wreck” fish. It as tough and overcooked. Waiter was very attentive l, but cook was off his game.
We had an amazing experience. We were dining at Halyards for my friend's birthday and they made the evening wonderful. Our server was incredible. He was personable without being intrusive. The food was amazing as well.
We took advantage of Open Table membership (reward card) booking Halyards as part of a “delayed” 40th wedding anniversary dinner. Arriving early, we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar - noting The Chestnut and Dirty Martin were great served by a knowledgeable bar staff! We were seated at an inner booth table for two. Service staff (Casey) was great. VA Flounder and Sweet Tea Chicken were our main choices - no regrets as they were a 10 out of 10! Note - Loved the chicken even on Day 2 as e couldn't finish it. We did start with a goat cheese salad and oysters respectively. The salad was delicious, but note the oysters were a bit small (compared to other SE GA experiences). Overall - we both loved the dining experience and we will return. The food and staff deserve a 10.” Note - Credit the Halyards reception staff too for addressing a Reward Card issue (an email since sent to Open Table).
