Michelle and I had the new hummus plates, she had new chix spicy egg rolls and I had the shrimp bisque. Wow we were blown away. Best shrimp bisque I’ve ever had. Michelle said the egg rolls were great. Great permanent additions to the menu. I give these menu additions a big A+. Thanks for adding them.

This place makes you wonder if the twilight zone really exists. We walked in. No hostess. No hostess stand. No sign saying seat yourself. You just walk into a room with people eating. Finally walked over to the bar and someone told me to just find a seat. There was one server. She was maybe 18, handling the whole restaurant. Did an awesome job honestly and tried her best but service was slow. Food was ehhh….one upside is the portions are large. Place has a very boring and cold atmosphere and everyone there was older or seemed like a regular. Just a very odd experience that leaves you questioning reality for 90 min or so.

Live Oak Tavern completely impressed me! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. They really go out of their way to ensure you have a great time.
I ordered the Mike’s Wings, and let me just say—they were out of this world. Perfectly crispy, full of bold flavor, and cooked to perfection. Easily some of the best wings I’ve ever had. If you're a wing lover, do not miss them!
Between the amazing food and the top-tier service, Live Oak Tavern is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for more Mike’s Wings and the great vibe!

We were very let down with our meal here. The fries were very cold (waitress did bring out new ones), we never got any silverware and our meal was very underwhelming to be almost 75$ for three people after tax. With some awesome food places on the island for about the same price I can fully say we will not be back here :(

This was our first time coming since it was close to the house. Izzy welcomed us with the biggest smile and personality! She was extremely attentive and friendly. I ordered the chicken stirfry which was very good and my husband ordered fried shrimp. Atmosphere was fun and busy. Will definitely be back.

Firecracker shrimp, onion rings and Korean chicken strips were amazing. The service was excellent. We were tourists looking for a pub and this did not disappoint. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing! Great flavor! And Izzy our server provided AMAZING service! Super laid back atmosphere with GREAT food! My husband and I shared a chopped wedge salad and fried pickles for an app. The salad was fresh and crisp and very balanced with ingredients. The fried pickles were great! Thick pickle slices and the coating was so crisp and light, served with a spicy ranch that was perfect! He ordered the turkey club pita and I had the Philly, I am a meat and cheese only girl. Both of us had fries as a side. My Philly had amazing flavor and the meat was tender and juicy. My husband's pita was amazing he said. Full of flavor, soft pita and plentiful with turkey. Fries were crisp and nicely seasoned. We will definitely put this place on our list of go to's on SSI. And ask for Izzy! She is sweet and a hustler! Can't wait to try the fish and chips next time.

Live Oak Tavern is by far the worst spot on the island — and that’s saying something. The service was horrendous, thanks largely to a red-bearded server who was not only completely unprofessional, but also unbelievably rude. His attitude was so out of line, he actually made a young girl in our group cry. That should tell you everything you need to know.
The atmosphere is as cold as the service, and it’s clear the staff have no training, no courtesy, and certainly no business being in hospitality. It’s hard to imagine this place staying open much longer if this is how they treat customers. The ownership should be absolutely ashamed. Maybe they should take a stroll to other restaurants in the area and see how real service is done.
Do yourself a favor — don’t waste your time, money, or energy here. There are plenty of better places on the island that actually value their guests. To follow up on my previous review — I’ve lived in the Saint Simons area for 16 years and know many of the locals personally. After sharing my experience, I’ve heard similar stories from others who’ve also had terrible service at Live Oak Tavern, especially involving the same red-bearded server. This isn’t just a one-off — it’s a pattern.
I’ve truly never stepped foot in such a sorry excuse for an establishment. The lack of professionalism and basic hospitality is astounding. I would genuinely welcome the chance to speak directly with the owner — they need to hear just how poorly this place is being run.
Rest assured, I’ll be spreading the word in the community to avoid this place at all costs. Saint Simons deserves better

Ordered an appetizer, it had zero flavor and they didn’t bring the sauce even after asking. Ordered a drink pretty early on, they never brought it. Didn’t offer any silverware or napkins until asked. 3 drinks got ordered at our table only 1 came. Mind you, there is only 12 people here looks to be 3 workers so not to much for a staff that size. To sum it all up, customer service is not the strong suit here. The food was good though.
