This is primarily a chicken restaurant. It's good, and we had a nice lunch. It didn't stand out to me in any way, but I do love Nashville hot chicken and they do a good job with their sauce. If you're looking for that type of meal you will enjoy it!

The location itself is charming, with a modern and clean interior that feels very welcoming. I also found the cashier to be friendly with a contagious laugh!

My daughter ordered the fried shrimp plate with mac and cheese, grits, and a side of Big Daddy's nanna pudding. I opted for the 2 grilled shrimp taco plate with fries, priced at $12. We both had drinks; sweet tea was particularly good and sweet. Our food arrived promptly—my order was ready by the time I returned from getting my drink and using the restroom.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my tacos. Presentation of the tiny, shriveled up shrimp alone was off-putting. The shrimp were notably small (smaller than medium-sized shrimp from Walmart) and lacked seasoning or grill marks, tasting bland. My daughter even spat out the shrimp I gave her. While the fries were fresh and crisp, they couldn't make up for the underwhelming tacos. The coleslaw had a decent flavor profile, but the small, bland shrimp ruined the overall experience. I ended up tossing one whole taco after, as I didn't want the $12 to be a complete waste.

My daughter's fried shrimp plate was better. The sides were a decent size, with about 10 give or take medium-sized shrimp served over a slice of bread. While seasoned adequately, she noted they weren't the best she's ever had but still acceptable. She enjoyed the banana pudding, which she is quite particular about. However, she mentioned both sides seemed to have a buffalo sauce undertone.

Our total bill came to $51.xx, and I left a $6 tip. Even without the tip, I felt the meal was overpriced for the quality and quantity of food received. It seemed my daughter's plate alone cost over $20, excluding drinks and dessert, which is much higher than the $12-$15 it should have been.

Perhaps your restaurant is better known for its chicken? If I lived closer, I might consider trying it again, but I wouldn't recommend the seafood based on this experience.

Just not a fan, and this is one of those places begging for a tip while you have to walk up to counter to place your order and pour your own drinks.

First time trying and it was ok. I was very happy that my food wasn't overly seasoned soul food. I ate every bite and I was pleased and satisfied.

The staff made me feel unwelcome when I simply asked that my fried chicken thigh and drumstick be cut apart for ease of dining. I was told by the manager that if I like it apart I might consider chicken tenders. They did cut it apart, but after an uncomfortable conservation. I don’t think my request of unreasonable. Whatever happen to the customer is right. I will say the fried chicken, Mac & Cheese, and collard greens I had were good, but didn’t go down well. Not sure I’ll be back to eat fried chicken at The Porch.

Wasn't as good as it was made out to be. Maybe we went in with too high expectations but considering The Porch has been featured on dinners, drive ins, and dives, we anticipated better than I make at home. This wasn't the case.

I'm so glad we tried this place right before leaving the area. That was some of the best chicken I've had, easily my top 3 ever. The portions and prices were great, the service was super fast, the food was fresh, perfectly balanced, not salty or grease, the drinks were delicious.

Simply try this place and you will be amazed by the quality of the food and the bang for your buck.

Dog-friendly dining on the turfed area. Plenty of porch and indoor seating. Fried chicken was very good. The fried catfish was tenders and seasoned and deep fried in a cornmeal coating. Staff were super friendly. Outdoor seating is first come, first serve.

This was the best part of the visit to St. Simon's. We were thoroughly impressed with the food and service ?. The portions were hearty and flavorful. If you're into spicy, the "Napalm" tenders will fix your sinuses for sure. The shrimp ? ? ? poboy was fantastic. The Memphis hot chicken ? ? was ridiculous ? ?.
