I’m honestly not sure how we stumbled upon The Porch… but I’m SO happy we did! Oh. My. God. — the chicken is everything: juicy, crispy, perfectly saucy! And the best part? You don’t even need to go full Nashville Hot if spice isn’t your thing — they’ve got delicious non-spicy options too.
I ordered 2 Nashville dark leg quarter with pimento mac and cheese and collard greens. The collard greens was the star of the show, it was insanely good! My husband went with the novice shrimp platter and he really enjoyed it. Even my daughter’s kids’ chicken tenders were huge and tasty! Overall, this spot is solid, highly recommend checking it out for yourself!
The only downside is calling in an order… I kept getting put on hold forever, so definitely bring some patience. And I did not like the catfish taco at all. The catfish lacked seasoning. But all in all? The Porch delivers pretty awesome food in a great location.

We, gals, came from out of state and stayed in S.S.I. for 5 days. We were recommended to try the Porch by my nephew. It was so good that we had to go back again before heading home. We all tried the catfish, mother clucker, tenders, shrimp, Mac n cheese, slaw, okras and baked beans. They're all delicious. I'm not a fan of seafood/fish but that catfish was to die for! Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this place. We'll definitely be back!

I just ate at here a couple weeks ago and had an awesome time and a great meal. I ordered the mother clicker, a fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese(no pickles for me), and it was hot crispy, and full of flavor - the creamy, slightly spicy cheese melted perfectly over the chicken. The laid-back outdoor atmosphere, friendly service, and fresh, fast meal made it a great spot to relax, and I'd definitely go back for that sandwich again.

It is October 15, 2025 Wednesday and today I decided to go take a first time visit at The Porch. The Porch is a soul food type of dining area where they serve fresh fish, shrimp, and chicken. They are located at 549 Ocean Blvd, St Simons Island, Ga 31522. When I drove up to the restaurant, it automatically gave me this southern aura. The outside of the restaurant looks exactly like a front porch, they even have a front yard gate where you would walk into the front before you get into the building. Where the restaurant was located, it was kind of in the cut in between other restaurants and stores, maybe even houses, but it's definitely cramped , barely had any parking spaces. Soul food is mainly their servings. It's a sit-down restaurant , you order first then choose wherever you would like to sit. When I got there I ordered a fantail shrimp basket and it came with two sides, mine were collard greens and maple baked beans, with tartar and their house sauce on the side and a sprite to drink. The price ended up coming to about $23. At first I was a little shocked it was over $20 because it was only a 1 person meal but in the end I felt like it was an affordable choice. I didn't really dress up and neither did I see others dressed up as well. If anything I would wear my casual , moderate every day look. The music played old 80’s tunes , the decoration had benches and fake looking grass. I would say older people are their main audience but surely family and friends hangout there. They even have fun little games, like bing bag toss. The service was definitely a 10/10 recommendation, they were so polite and were overly excited to find out I was doing a project for their restaurant. She briefly explained the menu to me, and shortly I sat down and waited for my food. Nearly 10 minutes passed and my food was out already. It was hot and fresh and smelled so divine. The lady kept checking on me to make sure everything was good and I was okay. The shrimp was medium spicy and crispy, the collard greens were juicy and flavorful, I really wasn't too fond of the baked beans but they weren’t terrible. They are open everyday 11AM - 9PM. The meals they offer are typically lunch and dinner. To sum it up, I will definitely be coming back. The environment was great, the service was outstanding and the food was awesome. I will certainly introduce my friends and family to this amazing restaurant.

Really pleasant relaxed place. Great food. Fried chicken and collared greens were exceptionally good.
Order at counter and they bring your food to your table. Chicken sandwich was very good with pimento cheese nice addition. Fresh salad with grilled chicken added was great which my spouse enjoyed. Spiked arnold palmer was 👍 good. Would definitely recommend and we intend to return to try other menu items including the shrimp tacos. Nice outdoor area with Cornhole games included.
Overall we both liked the food the service and the atmosphere.

Came here on our way in for the weekend. The staff was very helpful on our first time. Had the breast fried novice with collard, pimento cheese grits and a side of Brussels. AMAZING! Came back on the way out of town. Had the breast roasted Nashville this time with the same sides. EVEN BETTER... how can that be? Still great service. This will be a staple every time we go to St. Simon's 😜 thank you ladies for another wonderful meal!
