I can't believe it's taking me this long to write a review. Been a fan of sweet mamas for over 10 years. Locally owned business with deep roots in the community. A gathering place of youth groups in the mornings, friend groups at lunch. Pork pops are must. Try the Wainwright. Sweet mamas is known for breakfast treats, but the lunch is excellent. Simple deli sandwiches and soups. I am partial to the BLT with chips.

Very welcoming! Can only speak for the deserts, but they were VERY good! Got the half pound cake, half brownie; cheese Danish, and a sonny's delight, they were all extremely soft and wonderful.

Pretty nice local bakery for pastries and some coffee. A few breakfast sandwiches on biscuits that are good. As the name says, everything here is sweet, VERY sweet. This is not a bad thing but comes as a big surprise as the normally sweet type pastries like cinnamon rolls are more dessert-like than breakfast food. The pork pops are wonderful! Prices are good and the staff is ok but definitely used to the locals knowing the ordering routine. The only bad thing is the clientele inside. Sometimes it's a nice and kind group of people chatting and being friendly. Most of the time it's bullying political people screaming and making it known why everyone else's ideas suck and talking bad about the staff being stupid. The staff seems to just take this abuse because any complaint to management by a customer about unruly others is met with blank stares. If you can handle seeing staff and customers being berated and bullied while nobody does anything, or if you just get it to go and leave quickly, this is a great place. Of course a restaurant cannot control what patrons speak about, but this is rated R type stuff with loud racist comments being ignored. Definitely get the pork pops and a sweet roll TO GO.
Dietary restrictions: Be VERY aware that the sweet items will have MUCH more sugar than comparable items at other bakeries. Tasty but maybe not good if too much sugar is an issue.
Parking: This is in an outbuilding of a strip mall with plenty of parking.
Kid-friendliness: 100% NOT kid friendly for dine in or taking kids inside due to the local political guys being so loud, rude, and bullying. Management seems to at least allow, and maybe encourage this. Leave the kids in the car and get a bag to go.

As a highly rated breakfast & bakery spot in a touristy place, I expected a more welcoming environment. It was almost a stale attitude, which I found so uninviting first thing in the morning!
I also found it odd that I had to give my order twice, usually we order a bunch of stuff and as soon as it’s out of my mouth it’s forgotten.
I went for the bakery since we love pastries and donuts, the donuts were really dense and while my 1 year old devoured it I wouldn’t eat them.
The muffins were giant and soft and enjoyed.
The cheese danishes were okay, I should have tried it warmed up like one of the reviews said.
Lastly, the cinnamon rolls were not soft but not rock hard and overall it was a meh experience.

Sweet Mama’s Bakery is a great breakfast spot. Order from a tantalizing display case of baked goods which includes the best cinnamon roll that we have found on the island, also delicious fruit turnovers. If you know, you can order bacon which comes in a generous portion. While it may be missed by some visitors, the locals know it well, as the friendly cashier recognized most by name. We always visit when we are on the island, often more than once.
Love food and atmosphere at sweet mama’s.

The muffin was undercooked. I was so hungry that I wolfed it down, and now I have a stomach ache. Can’t believe they increased the prices to almost $5 for a single muffin that was soaked in grease and the nuts inside it were not that fresh.

Super yummy now! Since I was a small child, we would stop here constantly for the cookies. Then management changed and we were disappointed in the steep decline in quality, so we ceased going for years. We finally re-tried recently and were pleased to find that they’ve gone to somewhere close to their original cookie recipes!
Get the lemon squares.
My chicken biscuit was better than any other!
Biscuits are tasty, but after a few bites, you realize you’re eating lard
Red velvet and pound cake were to die for!!! Excellent!
