Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

My daughter and I love to come to this place for their fried chicken! They also have exceptional fried okra. The fried chicken is super juicy and has a spicy crust on it. That’s super crunchy and locks in all that moisture. Stuff is cooked to order, so be patient. The manager here is named Q, and he’s super friendly and a great guy. Staff are also super nice, and we’ve been helped by Bobby and Sydney who are both really friendly and helpful. Strong recommendation for my favorite fried chicken anywhere!

Saw this place on social media, as they were debating the best fried chicken in Metro Atlanta. Wanted the platter, as the beans contain pork. Substitutions are $.50 and they were out of potato salad (it was midday). Went with fries, just wanted a side of fries. The order was placed for medium fries. Was overjoyed to see they offered fried green tomatoes which comes with ranch dressing, no thank you! Sadly I had ordered it prior to seeing this and quickly getting the server's attention as to other options. Thankfully someone else ordered fried green tomatoes, so it wasn't a loss. As they had not brought them out to me, they were in the cooking process. I'm a blue cheese person, would have been over the top with a good blue cheese with the fries and/or the chicken which easily gives Popeyes a run for its money.

Parking: Parking is in a plaza. Parking closer to the restaurant can be tight getting into and out of but possible, take your time.

Chicken is very good, great flavor and perfectly cooked with cripy outside. I didn't really care for the sides, or the okra. The okra doesn't come with any sauce, so super dry and I only ate a few pieces. The potato salad was thick and tasted okay, it's sweet and more like mashed potato salad, I was looking for actual pieces of potato. The mac was very cheesy, but just tasted mushy and not great flavor. I will definitely come back for the chicken.

The chicken was fresh and cooked right when you order so it’s hot. The sides I ordered were the greens and potato salad. The sides were not even enough to fill the section on the plate. The greens were just ok. Potato Salad didn’t have chunks of potato more like mashed or whipped. Both were sweet. I totally disliked the taste. I would only purchase the chicken going forward:

My husband LOVES the food here, so I always pick it up while I’m out running errands. The food is good every time and the atmosphere is fine, but the service is the shining star of the entire place. No matter who is here, they are friendly and helpful and we always leave with a smile on our faces. Thank you for always being so great in a city with so many options that it would be easy not to be.

My husband found Gus’s while we drove to Destin Florida. We found it bc we stopped in Tennessee. I said find a place for us to eat. Well let me tell you I’ve had a lot of fried chicken in my life and this is by far the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The greens & beans. Omg the best! I live in Ohio and I came into Atlanta tonight and remembered there was a Gus’s in Sandy Springs. I’m so happy!

Food is your favorite southern dishes but DAMN does it take foooorrrrrreeeevvvveeerrrrr to get your food. We waited 30+mins to get our food. Had I not been so hungry; I would’ve walked out.

Bobby was so kind. My sister told meh niece and nephew wanted macaroni instead of the sides I chose. I called and spoke to Bobby. He was amazing and edited the sides we chose. Bobby was amazing. I can’t thank him enough for his customer service. Great experience. I will definitely go again.

This is absolutely the best fried chicken ever made anywhere on the planet this chicken with a negligee of crispy coating is marvelous you'll never find anything better

Review: Best fried chicken till date in USA that matched Asian standards of spice and flavour. Rest of it sucked and was unexpectedly sweet ... was fed to the garbage can.
