The best hushpuppies ever. Had the fried chicken that was excellent, wife had the trout grilled and loved it
We are going to miss the fresh seafood at Hammocks! Thank you Mitch for the outstanding service. Oysters, grouper, and lobster roll were great!
Sadly, this restaurant is closing, because their building lease was not renewed. Hoping that the delicious salmon in parchment migrates to one of their other restaurants. We will miss you Hammock's!
Always one of our favorites. We will miss it but look forward to Chef William's future endeavors.
Hate to see Hammock's close. For years it has been a go-to for our family birthday celebrations and more!
First, I was rejected at the door at 7:20 for not having a reservation and was told I wasn't allowed to wait if needed. There were open tables available, so I went to the car and made a reservation for 7:45. I went back in at 7:30 and was seated immediately. When I left around 8:15, there were more empty tables than full. Not sure why I was rejected at first, but seemed silly given the number of open reservation slots online. As for the food, average seafood. Not much on the menu if you don't like seafood. I got the shrimp platter and prefer to eat on the healthier side but almost everything on the menu was fried. I think the food is overpriced for what it's worth. Probably won't be back but was worth a visit at least once.

we love going to Hammocks for dinner. We both had the HTC Salad (that salad dressing is my favorite!) with blackened grouper added to it. Perfect meal!
This place has a fun ambience. Service was great! Food was really good too. Ordered from specials and all was so good. Jalapeno hushpuppies, Swordfish, crab stuffed grouper. Couple cocktails and couple drafts. Great date night.
Here now for a great mixer! Great atmosphere and food. Please check it out

Food and service was very good. Our server, Shyloh, was absolutely fab! However, the restaurant was terribly HOT!!! Everyone was sweating. We asked the manager to turn up the a/c and got a story about it being as high as it will go, and he can't get it fixed. I now see other reviewers have complained about this previously too. Maybe Hammocks think it adds to the "beach" theme or just want to save money? I feel sorry for the poor staff who have to work in that heat. We will return, but only when it is cooler.
We had the pleasure of being service by Shiloh. She was amazing, very attentive, polite and made sure I was satisfied. I ordered a French 75 and she made sure my drink was correct. Overall I will definitely come back and ask for Shiloh
We love Hammock's. Last night I ordered the Grilled Red Fish - as I was eating the outer edge, realized it was blood rare in the center. Did not finish. Should've brought to manager's attention but didn't. Have never had a problem there before. Will definitely return!
This place is a real conundrum. Have had some good and some not good experiences. The location unfortunately is one of the worst in the area, sandwiched between a pawn shop and a liquor store, with a view across the street of a demolished Big Lots. Thankfully what happens inside is better, although on this occasion not great. Let me start by saying our reception and service was warm and welcoming. Loved our server, really nice and attentive. Food was not as good. One in our party got the fish and chips. Solid, but his grits were swimming in olive oil? Oily grits? That's a first. Another had the house salad (tasty) and then the shrimp and watermelon salad special. Sounded interesting. It was not, fishy tasting watermelon is not a good dish. I had the redfish and it was cooked correctly and tasty but lacked a bit of flavor. Cole slaw was ok, about the same as KFC (not a criticism, but this place can do better). Overall ok but the food here is hit or miss. Given it's depressing location, this was probably our last visit.
We have gone to Hammocks for years, and we consistently have great meals. The decor and menu are like a place at the beach. I often have a hard time picking out what I want from the menu, because there are several great offerings. Yesterday I tried one of the specials, blackened grouper with crab meat. The fish was tender, juicy and flavorful. It sat on a bed of sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, topped with a little Cajun cream sauce. The sauce was not heavy, and added a nice touch. My daughter got her favorite, the salmon in parchment paper. Fish is wrapped up and baked, with tomatoes, potatoes and fennel. There's a reason why it has stayed on the menu this long. We will keep going back. Next time it may be their gumbo, the catfish with mango salsa, or their fried chicken. You can't go wrong here.
