I’ve loved Mellow Mushroom for years and it’s hands down my all-time favorite pizza spot, but the Mellow Mushroom Sandy Springs location truly stands out above the rest.

One thing I really appreciate is the consistency and care in how the pizza is made here. At some locations, the crust can be overly wide with sparse toppings, or the slices are too unevenly cut. That’s not the case at this location. When you open the pizza box, everything looks beautifully made and thoughtfully presented and that satisfaction absolutely carries through to the taste.

There’s something special about their dough here too: perfectly chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside, with a rich, deep flavor that just feels right. My go-to pizzas are the Super Pepp and Holy Shiitake, and they never disappoint. They also offer plenty of great options for vegetarians, which is a big plus.

And definitely don’t miss their new Mellow Rollz—especially with the garlic sauce. Fresh mozzarella tucked inside, finished with hot honey… it’s unlike anything I’ve had anywhere else.

Five stars for Mellow Mushroom – Sandy Springs and their truly amazing customer service.

My wife had placed an online order and accidentally selected cheese when she meant to order a pesto base. When I arrived to pick it up, the manager could immediately tell I was stressed while I was on the phone with her, trying to sort it out. Without hesitation, he was incredibly kind and told us they would remake the pizza—no charge at all.

We grabbed seats at the bar, and they quickly made a fresh pizza exactly the way my wife wanted it. No attitude, no awkwardness—just genuine care and top-notch service.

Moments like this are why we keep coming back. Great food is expected, but service like this is what sets a place apart. Huge thanks to the Sandy Springs team for going above and beyond!

I've been eating at mellow mushroom restaurants for 20+ years and they remain my favorite pizza chain in the Southeast. The crust and toppings are great, I like the fact that they have craft beer on tap and the restaurants themselves, like this one in Sandy Springs are typically friendly with good size booths and a nice outdoor patio. Always kids friendly too.

The food was amazing and the manager that was working today as well as the server, took really good care of us and made sure that We were OK. Definitely recommend this for anyone who loves pizza as well as a calm environment. the holy shiitake pie was phenomenal. :)

I came in to pick up an order and was asked for the pickup name, which is completely fine, but the interaction itself felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. The tone and body language made me feel as though I was inconveniencing the staff member simply by doing my job. Customer service is a big part of the experience, especially in food service, and this interaction did not reflect that. I chose not to address it in the moment, but I believe it’s important for management to be aware of how these interactions can impact customers and delivery partners. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so the team can create a more pleasant and professional environment for everyone.

Today I got a whole pizza to take out and while eating it at home, I chewed on a hard piece of foreign material in my mouth. It turned out to be a shard of foil packaging. It was gross and I could've swallowed it and got hurt.

I’ve been a Mellow Mushroom fan for years, and the Sandy Springs location just set a new bar for what great service looks like. This was hands-down the best experience I’ve ever had at any Mellow Mushroom.

The food came out fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious—exactly what you hope for but don’t always get. Our server was fantastic: attentive without hovering, friendly, and on top of everything. The manager even came by to check on us, which is something I really appreciate.

Having worked in the restaurant and service industry for a long time, I’m extremely picky when it comes to good service—and this team knocked it out of the park. If you want great food and exceptional service, this is the Mellow Mushroom to visit. Highly recommend!
