Im a local of Savannah and found this on Resy. It’s in the DeSoto hotel which is a nice spot. Honestly for the quality of the food and service, the price was excellent. PJ was our server and the whole staff were very friendly and helpful! I would absolutely recommend this for a nice relaxing dinner.

Don't eat here. The food is not good. The waiter was great. The restaurant is a big room like a ballroom in the hotel

Always sad when I have to leave this beautiful city... but the sting was lessened by a wonderful meal at the 1540 Room. I thoroughly enjoyed the Merguez lamb sausage entree...beautifully seasoned and portioned, not to mention the 2 lovely raw oysters that opened my meal. My husband was very happy with his NY Strip, seasoned and cooked to perfection . Coffee and and the olive oil ice cream dessert rounded out the meal. Our waiter P.J. took superb care of us, tempting our taste buds with a Pinot Noir tasting ahead of the meal, and making superb recommendations along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be grateful for the memories created, until we are able to visit this fine city once again!!!

Our dinners were excellent. We had the Daily Catch, snapper with a lemon butter sauce and cottage ratatouille, and the Mustard Chicken. Both were prepared fresh so don't be in a rush- enjoy one of their delicious cocktails. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing which made a rather large room feel intimately personal.

This by far was the finest dining experience I have had. The chefs are true artists. They have taken dining to a new level of quality, presentation and taste. Complementing my experience was the 1540 Room's incredible wait staff. They saw to all of my needs. I never felt rushed or bombarded by questions of how are things or can I get you something. I encourage anyone reading this review to do yourself a favor and dine at the 1540 Room, your senses will thank you.

We were really looking forward to eating here, but we were disappointed. The sparse dining room is lovely, but it was extremely warm. Our server was very good and knowledgeable. A superior wine list. But the food...my NY Strip was flavorless and extremely salty. My guests fish was “just ok.” Disappointing.

We were disappointed with the overall experience here. We visited from tampa and looked at reviews and almost all reviews were very positive. Not sure if it was an off night but we sat down and there was only 1 waiter for about 15 tables. It took around 20 minutes to get our drinks, we were served ice cold bread so i asked if it could be warmed and it came back still cold. We ordered the oysters and beef tartare for apps. the oysters were very briney and tasted like salt water (not that fresh). the beef tartare was not seasoned at all and the crackers overpowered it. we wanted to see if our entrees would turn out better. I ordered the pork chop and my bf ordered the snapper. porkchop was charred and burnt on the outside and the inside was almost rare. The snapper was fishy and quite bland but it was soaked in butter so it kind of hid the fishy taste. We had no choice but to let the food runner know and she let the manager know. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We don't ever like to send food back but we needed them to know our experience. Hopefully it was just an off night. I was looking forward to this place! Thank you to the staff for comping our bill and for being understanding!

We had a great dinner here for my birthday! Paul (PJ) was very nice and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Really great service, drinks, and food. Highly recommend the cauliflower and steak tartar!

I must agree with Whitney Ince on their review. This place is not bad, but not 5-star worthy. I came for steak, but was suprised that there was only one steak option, Coulotte. The steak is tender, however, extremely overseasoned (I think steaks are overseasoned to mask the low cut grade). The sauce underneath and the steak have contrast flavors which throws the entire dish off. Simple solution: salt and pepper the steak and allow the sauce to flavor the dish. Also, ordered medium but my steak was basically rare in the middle. The test of a good steak is how well it's cooked during busy hours. I did not send it back, but made mention to staff who agreed it was rare. All in all, $38 for the dish is reasonable with the expectation of 3-star.

Service: Best I have recieved in Savannah!

Ambiance: Chef's kiss. The open kitchen show is a great concept!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is stunning and we enjoyed seeing the kitchen front and center. Our waiter, PJ, was phenomenal. Super personable, attentive, explained the farm to table philosophy of the restaurant and made excellent suggestions. My husband loved the oysters and we both enjoyed the roasted cauliflower appetizer. I loved the local catch, extremely flavorful, and he found then lamb sausage dish to be fantastic.
