This was my first trip to Savannah. Always look for the “best of” and indeed this spot lived up to the hype. The house made sour dough with habanero butter was devine. I started with the granita oysters which were so tasty, perfect balance. For my entree had the lamb sausage which was the best of all. Highly recommend 1540 and Trish who was helpful, on point, and really made the southern hospitality shine through.

Menu is eclectic but Kelley explained it's a tribute to Savannah being a trading city and having spice connections to the rest of the world. We had beets and duck Scotch egg to start - beets were nicely done with the mint and lemon just giving them the lift they needed. Duck Scotch egg was perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and runny egg yolk in the middle. And the duck was delicious as wellNicely paired with a glass of pinot noir.For entrees - the merguez sausages could maybe have had a little more char but the tomatoey - eggplanty sauce had a wonderful smokiness to it.Duck Confit meanwhile had crispy skin and melting flesh - great with the greens and a crispy sweet potatoey hash brown.Best meal I had in a while - thanks to Kelley and the rest of the staff for making it a great experience.I saw other reviews dinging the atmosphere and I agree it's a high ceilinged and maybe a bit cool, but I was there for the food and company and that was excellent.

1540 Room is incredible! A must dine experience! Chef Collin Clemons farm to table creations give life to your taste buds. We jumped in just for appetizers and drinks for the first time. The cocktails are creative and very tasty. All juices are squeezed fresh. The pork belly was fantastic. We also tried the grilled oysters. They melt in your mouth; so tender! The tahini was the best we’ve ever had. Kelly, our waiter was excellent and very friendly. Being first-timers to Savannah, he gave us many sightseeing recommendations and was very attentive. We would highly recommend 1540 Room to anyone wishing to have a very memorable experience.

I went with my sisters and my mom to this restaurant on our girls trip. It was amazing!! First, they remembered my name from when I made a reservation in person and greeted me right when I walked in. The staff was so incredibly sweet. They went above and beyond to make our experience great. They had a wonderful mock-tail menu and the bartender made sure to tell us all about them. Get all the veggies! They were amazing! My sister is gluten free, and they were very accommodating for her. The staff was very involved with serving us, always making sure we were well attended to. They were also great at conversation. I thought I lost my camera, so I went back and every server tried to help me find it. I could not say enough about how kind they were to us. Friendly staff, great drinks, very clean, and amazing food! We will definitely be coming back!

I am a local.In the past week I have come twice to the 1540 room. The beets, corn bread and catch of the day were so delicious!I love the atmosphere there because even if it gets busy there’s enough room for people to not feel like a table is on top of them. I don’t want to be listening to others conversations, OR…have mine listened too. Fine Dining requires intimate conversations.And often in Savannah when you eat out, the tables are so closely put together that the noise level is elevated and the experience is not so special.So kudos to the 1540 Room for creating a beautiful atmosphere with great food. Should you have a choice, choose Tricia for your server. She gets 6 stars from me:)The second time I went back I made a mistake of not asking specifically for her. And after her top-notch service, everybody else was a 4. But now I’ve learned!

Great eclectic menu which was a nice break from the traditional fried southern dishes. Our waitress was very friendly, gave honest and sensible advice when we asked about dishes. She also was knowledgeable about the area which we appreciated being out of town guests. All our drinks were perfect and the bartender was very attentive to stop over and ensure we liked our drinks. Personal preference: we prefer a more dimly lit environment. The room is very open and it just felt like we were somewhat on display. Warmer lighting and a dimmer would go a long way for the main dining space, especially since the chandeliers are the wow factor in the space.

From the liquor lesson we received from Tina to the witty and warm service from Kelly this was a gem that we stumbled upon in our Savannah tour. The ambience was clean and warm providing for an amazing evening all around! Food was amazing as well!

My husband and I reserved a table at the 1540 Room for our anniversary. The updated atmosphere is the seamless mix of modern and cozy, with plush chairs, intimate place settings, and large windows that showcase the vibrancy of Savannah nightlife.Our server, Kelly, was warm and attentive. It was clear from the start that he was a seasoned vet of the Savannah food scene. He took the time to guide us through three courses, each of which complemented the others perfectly. He, the hostess, the bartender, and other waitstaff worked together to keep the front of the house running like a well-oiled machine.Our food was phenomenal, with an unforgettable blend of classic and unconventional flavors. My steak was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a deliciously bold sauce. My husband enjoyed the Duck Confit with greens and caramelized onions. Bonus points for offering a Temperance menu!Altogether, I can’t recommend the 1540 Room enough! Thank you for helping us celebrate 16 years ♥️

Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. The flounder, which was the catch of the day, was superb. The vegetables and beans that were served with it paired perfectly. I had the semolina cake for dessert, it was also outstanding. It was only slightly sweet, and I enjoyed the cardamom in the syrup. Wish we could eat here again before heading home. Our server Trish was pleasant and attentive.

If you're looking to eat quality and fresh food, this is the place to go! The menu is short, which is already a good sign of homemade food, the kitchen is not hidden and you can see how clean the kitchen is. The food. How to describe: OUTSTANDING. The chef does an amazing job!!! Heads up If you like poultry, the duck leg is deliciously prepared, better than in a restaurant in France!! Eating good food is crucial but the waiters are also a big part of the experience in this restaurant. Kelly and Trish were polite, happy, friendly and knowledgeable. Including the chef, the staff were able to turn our last night in Savannah into a memorable night!
