The owners are liars and thiefs. Not trustworthy.

Hands down the best food in Savannah. Everything a restaurant should be and more. This place is not only a masterclass in flavor but a history lesson as well. Everything the south stands for: perseverance through hard times, using whatever is on hand and making magic. Simplicity and fresh quality ingredients... essentially making something out of nothing.Growing up in the south, soul food has always been my absolute favorite. I've been eating it since out of the womb and I am real particular about my soul food. Needless to say I was mildly disappointed when I moved to Savannah 3 months ago at the lack of authentic Gullah Geechee food. Being in the heart of the low country I expected an abundance of traditional chefs passing down their grandma's recipes but found only pretentious overpriced creole fusion and poorly done imitators. That was until I tried 2 Chefs Gullah Geechee. They cook with conviction; with passion, and with a love for tradition. Hands down some of the best food i've ever had in my life and i've been around the block to say the least. The food is egoless and made with love. I swear the first bite I took of the red rice... my knees buckled and I had to sit down; haha I heard angels singing. Try this place. forget everything. The shrimp, the chicken, the pork and that signature red rice. Oh that red rice; you can't go wrong. If you are visiting or live here this should be your go to. The food is tremendous and always on the mark. Now stop reading reviews and go try this place.

My wife and I decided to stop by after seeing all the reviews/pictures and I’m just mad we didn’t try it sooner. I had the fried fish, red rice, mac & cheese and the greens. She ordered the smothered fried chicken with the same sides and both came with cornbread. It was absolutely amazing. Greens were cooked just right and seasoned perfectly. I thought the mac & cheese was going to be too cheesy at first. Wrong. I devoured every bit of it. Red rice had just the flavor and the fish was on point. I don’t know what they do to get their cornbread so fluffy and airy but it had a little sweetness to it and was also amazing. Everything was just so good that words can’t even begin to describe it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed everything on her plate as well. Fantastic food with the friendliest service. You cannot go wrong. I’m just thankful they were open on New Year’s Day and my first meal of the year was one of the best I’ve ever had.

I will get full warning of this food if you have to drive after receiving your food DON'T! I am normally a pro at running errands and eating BUT this food was so immaculate from everything on my plate,I think I went over the speed limit trying to get to my location so I can fully enjoy my food. Since I moved here for the past 2 months I've been trying to find a place that will just not hit my stomach but hit my soul with full taste and I finally found it.

A visit to this little joint on the skirts of Savannah was as salty as the food.We ordered the turkey and fried chicken meals with mac & cheese, cabbage and cornbread - all hypertension-coma salty. They claim the "food is cooked to order" but the chicken tasted like it had been double-dipped in grease to warm it. Besides you can't cook home-style food "to order." The meals are served in to-go containers -- like food from a food truck, which is tacky for a restaurant with "chefs." They do not service the table or provide any type of courtesies. We requested our drink upon purchasing it, and had to go back to the typical hostless-hostess to request it again - 15 minutes later. No wonder the place was empty (and closing early 7:30PM) on a Friday evening in tourist-town Savannah! The people are unfriendly, rude and unappreciative of the support. One star is far more than 2 Chefs earned. Oh, and the ambiance, there was none.First stop on this year's cross-country road trip gets a ZERO!!!!!

My husband and i came to Savannah for the weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We decided to Google soulfood restaurants and this restaurant came up. After reading the reviews we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere and food was GREAT. We ordered the chicken, mac & cheese? lima beans and white rice with gravy. LISTEN!!!!! The chicken was seasoned and fried just right. I usually don't like restaurant mac & cheese but this one was soooo good!!! My only complaint is they ran out of cornbread. Based on the rest of the food...i know it's good. As GREAT as the food was, the best part of our night was talking to the owners. WONDERFUL people!!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!

Fried chicken wings, was delicious, not greasy. Cornbread light, not dense, good flavor. Green butter beans, and cabbage cooked very well. Peach cobbler was good, not overly sweet. I tasted the peaches.

My husband & I was visiting Hilton Head SC. I wanted to go to Savannah and eat. So I Google Soul Food Restaurant in Savannah. This restaurant came up with others. I read the reviews and said. Oh I want to try it. So we came for lunch on Sunday. Great atmosphere, friendly owners. I ordered macaroni, lima beans, and fried pork chops without the rice. My husband ordered cabbage, macaroni and pork chops with rice smothered in gravy. Both came with corn bread. OMG the food was Delicious!!!!! I will be going back again

On Friday Aug 8th 2023 I had the pleasure of dining in this establishment and I must say the food, service and the atmosphere was top notchA meeting place for people who know where to get a great down home cooked mealAn information exchange station while having a delicious cup of Swamp waterI was torn between fish and liver I chose the liver and was not disappointed. The cabbage OMG excellent i really enjoyed the meal. Before leaving Savannah the next day, I had to go back, got a plate of fried chicken again I was not disappointed. The mac&cheese reminded me of mommas cooking a lot of love in the pot.I got dessert this time, authentic red velvet cake let's just say I should have gotten more than 1 slice because when it was gone I was 2.5 hours away. thinking of ordering some and having if overnight shipped to meI really enjoyed the food and the fellowship cant wait to return and try the fish.I almost forgot I had the cornbread with my meal and 2 pieces to take on the road with me unbelievably deliciousKid-friendliness: I had my grandson with me and the conversations were tactful and sound a welcomed attraction for all ages
