Weren't looking for a large meal, so settled for Fried Green Tomatoes and the Chacuturie Board to share. Friend Green Tomatoes were a delight and the presentation, quality and quantity of the Chacuturie Board were more than we expected. Excellent, especially with our "Residents Complimentary Bubbles!"
When we arrived, we were a little worried because there was only one other table with patrons. We contemplated leaving but then ordered a bottle of wine and some appetizers to at least give it a shot, especially since our attendant, Ana, was so sweet. We were delighted we didn't leave because the appetizers were fantastic, and we ordered equally good dinner plates. Again, Ana was fantastic, and as a local, she gave great recommendations for desserts and drinks after dinner.
The restaurant was very nice. The decor was appealing to the eyes. The server was attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding and delicious. The view from where we were seated was incredible. We had already had a wonderful morning in Savannah, GA, and this experience has added to that.
I really enjoyed myself from the valet to the service. Everyone who was working today were great!
Was surprised that we were the only table present. Food came out hot and good. Nothing really was super exceptional. Was good. Apps included the crab cakes and bacon. Again.. good. Two of us had the grilled chicken. Relatively small but tasty. Odd being the only one there at a peak hour. Nothing much more than that to say.
What a great little hidden gem! My wife and daughters loved their meals as did I! Not only was the food great but our server Soleil(forgive me with the spelling) was incredible! We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Savannah!
We stayed at this hotel which was clean, comfortable. The dining room had the same menu for Easter Sunday Brunch which was the same menu as the daily one except the time period was extended. The food was acceptable but limited. No pancakes or waffles. We ate the same breakfast everyday which was good but sometimes not served hot.
Didn't even get servers name, just not very interactive service. Then mid into dinner when it's time to order entrees that's when i found out there is no salmon. so all my options i wanted were gone. Would've liked to of known that in the very beginning. Just felt very transactional the whole time instead of wanting to actually give us service. Food tasted good though.
My wife and I Had a 7 pm reservation on a Thursday night. Walked up to hostess and looked in restaurant area. Stark interior but even more offsetting was the fact there wasn't a single person there. We politely told the hostess and went elsewhere.
I came to 22 Square when it first opened and it was a fantastic experience but I believe they lost their chef and changed the dining experience. The space looks more like a cafe now but they're charging fine dining prices. The service woman was sweet but kept disappearing and was extremely slow with orders even though there were only two seated tables. Food was disappointing as many dishes felt like they were frozen food and just heated up just above being thawed. My shrimp and grits was between lukewarm to cold grits with warm shrimp and sauce over it, the burger was dry and several of the listed menu drinks were out of stock. Would not do this again.
Restaurantji Recommends
It was Christmas evening, so fixed menu. Food was good, not great, but for the day acceptable. The service however was abysmal. Our waitress was clueless. Can't recommend.
The restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel. We went for the Christmas dinner experience. The prime rib was fatty and tasteless but they were kind enough to switch for the fish dish which was better. However, obviously not what I wanted or else I would have ordered that initially. Service was very slow but friendly. It was average overall. Wouldn't recommend the experience as it was $60 a person for one starter, main and dessert. For the same price you can go down the street and have a Christmas buffet that had all these options and more.
First, I want to point out my server (his initial is J) was very sweet and pleasant. He was attentive and prompt. It's unfortunate I paid $60 for a meal on Christmas that was terrible. Of the choices offered, I ordered the ham with mac & cheese and broccoli casserole, the Cesar salad and a yule log dessert. The ham was so over cooked it barely tasted like ham, and I had to douse it with salt and pepper to bring out the flavor. The broccoli casserole was uneatable. The mac & cheese was pretty good. The salad was okay. The yule log dessert was so dry and seemed like it had been sitting out all day. I was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend.
Unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant experience with our Christmas dinner. We had reservations at 4:30pm. We were seated and ordered right away. We did not see our waiter again until we questioned why we had not received our salads.....it was 5:30pm when we were finally served our salads. There was no explanation as to why it took so long. Our entrees were disappointing as well. My husband had the prime rib dinner and I had the glazed ham dinner. They both seemed over cooked and as if they had been prepared earlier and simply warmed up. Not what we expected for $60 per person. We will not go back.
I called in a take out out order for breakfast of avocado toast and it was flavorful and delicious! The food was ready upon my arrival, I was greeted with a smile and the staff was polite. The restaurant is inside the Andaz hotel and I’d never seen one of these properties but based on appearance I will look into staying with them my next visit. It was well maintained at a glance with a modern aesthetic but yet warm.
