Cool South African bar inside the JW Marriott . Since my wife is South African we had to check it out. While we only had drinks, we did notice a lot of South African favorites on the menu. It has a fun atmosphere.

Giving 5 stars mainly for the cocktails. Food was also solid, but the drinks were great. Service was rough, not for a lack of work on the staff part, they are just understaffed. We waited at least 10 minutes to even be greeted or given a menu, and was there nearly 30 minutes before receiving our 1st drink.

The reception and service was a little off with Adrianna (at the bar) I didnt order a cocktail so I guess she thought I wasn't going to tip. Nevertheless, I gave her a tip a few dollars short of the total bill. I hope the service is better next time.
I didn’t get a chance to eat. But the African art work throughout this restaurant is spectacular!

Bao Bab Lounge is one of the most unique lounge experiences you will have at any lounge. The African theme is intriguing with its amazing artwork, artifacts and animals. The service is equally impressive, but the unique handcrafted cocktails are the stars. You must try some of their smoked libations. Love this place. Lauren, Yvonne and Sean are excellent at their craft.

Lamb meatballs are best food ever. Superior service by Spencer and Chef Alex. Sorry to be from too far away to come back. We don't drink and would likely avoid a bar but the menu intrigued and then exceeded.

We had a wonderful time at the Bao Bab Lounge in Savannah! The atmosphere was fantastic and just what we were looking for. Our server Nick was super attentive and the manager Vonie gave us great drink recommendations checked on us often! Garrett and Chris did a fantastic job at the bar, and we were so impressed with the quality of the drinks! We will definitely coming back during our next Savannah trip.

I absolutely LOVE this place!! The food and service is always on point. The atmosphere is so much more than you’d expect from a chain/mainstream hotel. It’s got an upscale vibe yet honors the human spirit. Anytime tourists ask me for recommendations, it’s always here! I’m obsessed with crystals (especially a bar made of Tiger’s Eye!) and world culture so this is definitely the spot to submerge yourself in both while enjoying delicious food, drink and ambiance.
