Got thrown out for "following girls around" by the security guy with all the arm tats. First off I'm gay and second those girls I was "following" were in fact my roommates and friends that I had came into the bar with. Upon explaining all of this to him and my friends, again the "girls" I was following, backing me up, he continued to yell at me and grab me. Before this we watched him throw out all the non-white people from the bar, including one woman who was out for her birthday. To say this felt a bit pointed was an understatement. I am not a Savannah resident and was traveling in and many of the other bars were much more welcoming and accepting. This was not the energy here at all. If you want a bar that fits into the conservative south stereotypes than this is it, but if you're wanting to be in a much more chill and accepting place I'd recommend the Treehouse!

After dinner, we walked around and wanted to check out the Barrelhouse. In the basement area, there are a few pool tables and we enjoyed a few rounds of game. It got a little busy Tuesday night after 8 pm. As we headed up to the ground level, we saw a live band with awesome music and a few people are dancing and enjoying the chill ambience. We ordered a few more drinks and stayed till the band's last song at 11:30 pm. Really had a cool and fun experience at this bar.

Probably my favorite place to dance in downtown Savannah. It's got pool tables and such as well. It's between Totally Awesome Bar and here for my favorite late night place but Totally Awesome typically doesn't have dancing or a club feel.

I was just in Savannah with a group of 20 over this past weekend for a surprise 40th birthday party with a group of 20. We stopped in around 1 pm on Saturday to give our group a meeting spot. The bouncer/busser was great. He greeted us, cleaned our table and even had a few chats with multiple people in the group. But the day bartender had to be one of the rudest and mean bartenders I have ever came across. Not only was she condescending and mean to every single person in our group, she made faces when we ordered and even shook her head and cussed under her breath "Fuck these people." She even had a run in with one of the girls in the bathroom that was totally inappropriate. We didn't order and food but had a few drinks and shots as we enjoyed the music selection. But did not stay because of her. Half of us work or have worked hospitality and we get either having a bad day or just hungover but to treat guests like she did is a stain on that establishment. Do better.
Layla has the best hospitality and customer service in downtown Savannah from what I've seen I am not local. Shes lit and Gorgeous. I will be revisiting
