Worst food and experience I have ever had. Unless you want food poisoning do not eat here! Cold and undercooked seafood! When you bring it to their attention they will not take it off your bill instead they call the police and force you to pay the bill!! Worse restaurant ever!!

The food was surprisingly excellent from this bar. I got the grilled shrimp poboy and a side of potato salad. Both were some of the best I have ever had! Lots of shrimp that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Potato salad was sooo good! Service was fast and good.

This is by far my favorite bar on the river walk. Small friendly people servers and customers. Great prices and the best oysters in the Savanah area. Love this place.
Out of town visitors staying at a hotel on The River. I dearly wanted oysters and I googled this place, and it was close by. It’s basically a bar that serves food. Our meal was ok but most everything came on plastic including my vodka tonic. I dislike any beverage served in plastic glasses. My other complaint is the price of the oysters, $32 bucks for small oysters, a dozen. I didn’t expect a four star experience but I felt this price was too high. The place is just ok. We are a bit more sophisticated for this type of restaurant. I’m spoiled by NYC and European dining.

This is a dive right on River Street - we loved it! Bernie's was recommended to us by a server at another restaurant who also works at Bernie's. We had asked her about raw oysters, and she recommended Bernie's. The oysters were plumb with a clean crisp flavor and the steamed shrimp were also very good, probably the best we had on our trip. There are about 6 craft beers on tap, and good selection of cans and bottles. In the spirit of what it is, a PBR and fresh seafood is hard to beat combo. We wandered in on a second afternoon to nosh on more oysters. Not a "destination", but clearly a place you'll want to drop-in for a few cold ones and dozen or so oysters.
Bernie's Oyster House on River Street in Savannah is a must-visit for seafood lovers. The restaurant is located in a historic building and has a charming and laid-back atmosphere. The oysters are the star of the menu, and they are fresh, delicious, and shucked to order. The restaurant offers a variety of oyster dishes, including fried oysters, oyster po'boys, and oysters Rockefeller. The chili dogs are another standout menu item, with juicy hot dogs topped with homemade chili and cheese. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service, making it a great value for your money. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout your meal. Overall, Bernie's Oyster House on River Street is a great choice for anyone looking for fresh seafood and delicious chili dogs in a fun and casual atmosphere.

This is our 6th day in Savannah. We had the crabcake platter & steamed seafood platter. Bloody Mary & peach margarita. The best food we've had in Savannah by far this week! Our server Tiffany was amazing giving the ins & outs of eating crayfish. A little dive bar'ish, but DELISH! Highly recommend!
All right. I come to this place every year for the oysters and the atmosphere. This year. Both were great as always. But this time I got the special and potato salad to go. And at this time I have not ate the special but I have ate the potato salad. And let me tell you. As a born and bread Georgian this is the best tator salad I have ever ate. It was literally an euphoric experience in my mouth.
The 1/2 pound of peel n’ eat shrimp was so good. The seasoning and butter sauce made it amazing. We also enjoyed the crawfish, raw oysters, and a garden salad. It was our server Ally’s third day, and she wowed us with her hospitality.10/10.
If you are looking for good food, good beer, and good times, head to Bernie’s.Located on the river, it’s ‘no frills, ‘dive bar’ kind of vibe wraps both arms around you and welcomes you with a bear hug.The Low Country Boil and the Crab Cakes were wonderful. The LCB is something I managed to eat all myself, but it is something you can consider a shareable. The beer menu isn’t extensive, but you don’t need one. They’ve got the staples, both on draft and in the can.If you want to start your night off well - then be sure to visit Bernie’s.
Popped in to Bernie's Oyster House River Street for dinner while on a business trip to Savannah, GA. I loved Bernie's. The décor is definitely a dive bar which adds to the ambiance. 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night and we walk in and were seated immediately. The staff was quick, attentive and very friendly. The food. Oh my the food was fantastic. I was in my happy place. I had the Low-Country Boil (shrimp) and my coworker had the1 lb. peel and eat shrimp and a salad. We both loved the flavor and the sheer amount of food Bernie's provided. If you are in Savannah, definitely go see the historic river front area and reward yourself with some excellent seafood at Bernie's Oyster House!
