Wow! We sat at the bar to enjoy the unlimited mimosas and they were so great. I got the crab cake benedicts....they ran out of fresh eggs was sad about that....the beet hollandaise was different but good, wished I asked for more. My husband had the steak and eggs. Steak was smoked and shredded apart...so yummy! We waited until the oysters were available...they were delicious! The atmosphere and staff here was so pleasant and peaceful. We weren't rushed away by the staff after sitting for 3 hours which was nice. My Husband and I enjoyed our date brunch! Definitely going to be our new brunch spot!
Our Chef testing at the Common Restaurant was nothing short of spectacular! We were seated and presented with an anniversary card and complimentary Common logo pins. At the end of the meal we were given cute little boxes of ginger tea with the cutest little ginger bread cookies. Our meal started off with grilled bread and compound butter, appetizers were smoked oysters Rockefeller and mushroom bruschetta, we cleansed our pallets with a raspberry rhubarb, it was quit tart, and did the job. Out entrees were Grilled ribeye, southern smashed potatoes topped with mushroom gravy, served with baby broccoli, & smoked beef au jus and Shrimp and grits. Now, if you follow me, you know I’m very picky about my shrimp and grits and it’s very hard to find great shrimp and grits around here. We’ve only found one place who had outstanding shrimp and grits and that was a bbq place in Florida, FLORIDA you guys? I don’t even try to order them anymore cause it’s always a let down. However, I gave them a shot and OMG!!! y’all know I can get emotional over anything and the first bite brought a tear to my eye. I could hear the angels singing, hallelujah!! The flavor combination of these grits. The smoked Gouda just gave it the chef’s kiss. This is now, my new favorite place. I will be back, often. Our deserts were a hazelnut tart and espresso mousse with biscotti. The espresso mousse stole the show with deserts. This place should definitely be on your list to check out. Reserve a table so you don’t miss out. #savannahgeorgia #visitsavannah #anniversarycelebration #greatsavannahrestaurants

Had the pleasure of enjoying a great Sunday meal or should I say snack? I enjoyed the shrimp and grits which were super delicious but for $23 the portion size could’ve been larger. My husband enjoyed the $.75 oysters and the cocktails were great. We definitely recommend for a date night! Highly suggest bigger portions.

Will be sure to never come here again, and tell our fellow Savannah friends to avoid as well. I arrived 3 minutes past their 10 min grace period but was standing behind a group. By the time they sat the group upstairs and came back I’d been there a few minutes longer. Our table was still available but we couldn’t have it. They told me “you’d be surprised, 3 minutes really makes a difference when they have reservations later in the night.” 3 minutes!!!! This place has become so full of themselves after “re-branding” with their new chef over the last year. You’d forget you’re in the South because they have no southern hospitality whatsoever.

Common was by far my favorite restaurant visited in Savannah! We had chicken and waffles and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were amazing. The service was so friendly, just incredible. They even surprised us changing the sign to celebrate our anniversary! I had bottomless mimosas but my husband ordered the bloody Mary and it was the best I've ever tasted! I also thought the pickles were the best I've ever had and they brought me more when I told a server. Cannot say enough positive things about Common!

Get super busy super quick, but waitress did a pretty good job, could tell she was new. The music was super loud for the morning though, but suppose it could depend on where they sit you. Food was delicious!

I will start by saying that the food and drinks were AMAZING and you should definitely go here.
We walked in around 530ish and sat at the bar. There were many tables open and it was very loud even when it was that empty. The music was just loud enough that you could not speak at a regular volume to be heard over it. Once it filled up, it got very overstimulating and we mostly just played on our phones cuz we couldn't really talk. When we went in with a food tour the next day, we had the same issue with noise level of music and lack of sound damping.
We were there for over two hours and by that point, we had asked for the rest of our food to be boxed up (some items still had not come out) as we're just tired of sitting at the bar with the noise and long wait in between items. The bar chairs are not comfortable for long periods of time and at two hours we were definitely done trying to balance comfortably on them.
We got the low country Mac and cheese, the chef's tasting, and an old fashioned. The next day when we went for the food tasting, we got the honey pot and the doughnut sliders.
All the food was AMAZING and I 100% want more of it. The atmosphere and slow service (not that they werent 100% trying - both experiences felt like the floor was just understaffed and it is a holiday weekend) took away from wanting to go back or even go with a group larger than two people as we aren't the scream across the table sort.
From what it sounds like, our experience wasn't the norm but to have the same kind of experience two days in a row makes me think it's just the norm for right now.
If those things don't bother you much, DEFINITELY go here and get some yummy drinks and the chef's menu!

Vegetarian options: Get the pork belly doughnut sliders if they have them. We were on a food tour and that was our dish and they were very good. Besides you need some meat so your not crazy to try to ignore your human dietary needs. You need meat.
Dietary restrictions: They have no restrictions, you can eat what every they have.
Parking: There is no specific parking for the restaurant but there is on street and garage paid parking.
Kid-friendliness: They love friendly well behaved kids. But caution if you don't have friendly well behaved kids then they/you should not bring bad kids here. Bad kids will be asked to leave with their parents.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes wheel chairs can get in here unless they seat you upstairs, there is no elevator to 2nd floor.

Came here for their 75 cents happy hour special oysters - Kellum Wild from James River! It was so good we ordered two dozens!! We also tried the half a dozen of their $2 oysters (Salt Bombs). They were definitely not salt bombs from their names haha. We would've ordered more but we had dinner reservations a hour later at another restaurant. For drinks - I got the non-alcoholic tini and my husband got the peach lager (local). Both were great!
Their happy hour is Monday to Sunday 3-6pm and they offer dinner starting at 5pm. Great service and very cute spot for dinner/happy hour or drinks in general!

Oyster deal was great! (75c/ea.)
Recommend the short rib hot plate and the white gumbo.
If you love pineapple, the persuasion is a good pick. However the mahi tasted meh.
Christian was awesome, very attentive!
I felt the martini (with the special brine and science) was a bit too salty for my taste.
