Music in lobby was WAY WAY too loud for folks dining in the main dining room consider moving to bar or having mellow/quieter gig.

Live music was way too loud. This is a restaurant in a neighborhood -not a bar on River Street. Truly ruined our dinner.

We dine here several times a year, and always enjoy the food, service and ambiance. It is a unique and charming place - a jewel of a restaurant!

This was our second time dining at Cohen’s Retreat. We were seated at the exact same table only at the opposite side of the dining room. I have to say that it’s all too rare for restaurants to have comfortable seats. Both the banquet and the chair were height and firmness appropriate. As my Beloved spouse says, “An uncomfortable chair really ruins a meal.”
We ordered the tomato onion pie as an appetizer. We were surprised when not one, but 2 personal sized pies came out. They were outstanding. The sweet and tart flavors mixed beautifully.
Beloved spouse had his heart set on the rack of lamb. Unfortunately as our server, Tanner, explained the chef had been disappointed in recent deliveries of lamb and had opted to use it for stew instead, while looking for a new supplier.
Beloved spouse did shift to the filet mignon with French fries, done medium.
I so seldom get scallops I could not resist them when I saw the menu.
Both meals arrived a reasonable time after finishing our appetizers. (It’s so nice to have a leisurely meal and not feel rushed.) They were both wonderful. The filet practically melted in your mouth. Likewise the scallops were tender and sweetly flavorful.
If there was anything disappointing about the meal, I would say it would be the lack of a choice of side with the filet. French fries are more of a hamburger fare.
As I said, we have eaten at Cohen’s previously. We planned to order flan to share for dessert. Unfortunately Tanner told us that they only had Key Lime Pie. Now I know many people enjoy it but Beloved spouse and I do not. Oh well. We have ice cream at home.😉
Along with 2 glasses of Chardonnay our bill for food came to $128. We tipped Tanner in cash.

This place is super funky and cool. The food was good - fried green tomatoes were perfect, lamb stew was enjoyed by my husband ... I had scallops and they were okay. Overall though, great place

Cohen's Retreat never disappoints. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented, and the service is consistently top notch. The cozy, charming atmosphere makes it feel both special and comfortable. This was our first time bringing the baby, and it was such a stress free experience with the high chair and family-friendly setting. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Always a great time! Brunch was great - service was great and ambience was great. This time we are in the dining room which was very peaceful. I hadn't seen these friends in a while and we wanted to catch up.

We eat at Cohen's regularly, but this time the filet was off. Not terrible, just overly peppered. The wedge salad, even split is usually outstanding, however this time was just kind of blah.
