Beautiful decor. Love that they include so much past history of the building and it's founder.

Such a fun, eclectic, and historic spot away from the fervor of downtown Savannah! Party of four- we found a nice large corner table in the bar. Menus delivered and drink orders taken quickly by a busy bartender/server. He made excellent suggestions and beverages. Ordered off the bar menu (although restaurant full menu was available). Smash burgers were well prepared and tasty as was Mahi tacos. House salads were uninspiring considering $10 cost. The ambience and decorations coupled with the good service, drinks and food made for a lovely evening. Convenient parking right outside the front door. The history of the facility and its benefactor can be viewed from several delightful displays placed around the main building. “So old men don’t have to die alone.”

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Cohen’s Retreat for lunch, and it was nothing short of spectacular. As a Savannah local and a connoisseur of shrimp and grits, I can confidently say that Cohen’s offers the best shrimp and grits in town, hands down. The dish was flawlessly prepared, bringing together rich, comforting flavors in a way that I’ve never experienced before. But the culinary delights didn’t stop there—the key lime pie was divine, striking the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, a must-try for anyone who visits. Adding to our exceptional dining experience was our server, Missy, who was the epitome of delightfulness. Her service was attentive and warm, making us feel truly valued. Cohen’s Retreat is a gem in Savannah’s dining scene, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Had brunch today, as my stepmom and I do every Sunday after church. The Smash Burger is the best! But, today it was a little on the salty side ( and I love salt)…told Missy our bartender/ waitress and she’s on it…going to notify the kitchen! Love their food ❤️

Lovely setting with a history. Small menu but lunch was very good. Salad and tomato pie. Nice little, artistic gift shop.

This place is really nice. Lunch menu is small, but I love it. It is great for people like me who are indecisive. I ordered the herb and farro and added shrimp. It was delicious. My friend ordered the fried chicken with fries. She said it was too salty for her taste. I would definitely come back. Oh, did i tell you about the cafe and gift store. You better come check it out.

I really enjoyed the meal and ambiance at Cohen's Retreat. Sitting by the fireplace with friends made dinner cozy. The service was excellent upon entry. Soup and dinner were seasoned to perfection. Everything was fresh and delectable. I had dinner in the main dining room, but I hear the bar has a cool vibe and the catering hall is nice too. Would definitely come back and try other menu items.

It's a lovely place. They have cabins for stay, a quaint store, individual one room restrooms, nice side rooms for celebrating small gathering, and of course a bar and restaurant. They were short handed and the lady who served our table of 8-10 was also serving the bar and other tables. With a lot to handle, she seemed a bit overwhelmed. A few in our party didn't receive a friendly service?. Can't overlook that. I ordered the omelet with house fries. It was a very good filling meal, lots of veggies. House fries were salted too perfection I also ordered a liquor coffee - Bitter. I'm giving it a three now due to the service my whole group received. I will be going back again to experience it in my own.

This place is so neat. We always come for brunch and there are people playing instruments in the main room. The decor is awesome throughout the building. We always choose to sit at the bar for brunch because we typically show up in casual clothes without making a reservation. The food is always seasoned to perfection and cooked well. The staff is friendly too!! My fiance loves the shop past the bar at the end of the building as well. I think it's a boutique? There are lots of great little gifts to check out while waiting on your food.Google seems to think this is a resort based off of the name of the establishment. It's actually a place to eat. But maybe I am missing something.
