I never thought I’d be writing this, but here we are: Colleagues & Lovers in Savannah chose to kick me out for quietly existing outside their bar, because one of their bartenders, Josh Corley, felt “uncomfortable” seeing someone he’s spent years publicly harassing.
Josh Corley has a documented pattern of anti-Muslim, racist, and xenophobic behavior. In a now-deleted Facebook thread, he called me “Aladdin”, while his friends would tell me “Don’t press the button” (suicide bomber stereotype), Claimed I was mad because “Jasmine likes big pu*****, and also threw in a 40 virgins joke.
After that incident, Josh and his friends continued harassing me around town. He was literally kicked out and banned from Lonewolf Lounge just three days earlier for the same racist behavior. Ask them. They’ll confirm it.
On July 22, 2025, I was sitting outside C&L, invited by two friends for a drink, not inside, not bothering anyone, not even looking in Josh’s direction. But when I explained privately to my friends why I wouldn’t go in (I didn’t want them unknowingly supporting a racist bartender), the manager (Warren) came out and told me to leave.
Yes. I was kicked out of a bar for being the target of racism.
I wasn’t yelling screaming, I didn’t even go inside the bar. Just calmly telling friends what had happened to me in the past
The manager said talking about being harassed made me a “nuisance.” Think about that.
C&L chose to protect a bartender with a publicly known record of hate speech over a peaceful patron of color simply catching up with friends.
And it gets worse. After I posted about this, a local doctor (a woman of color) commented to say Josh hit on her at C&L just last week while his girlfriend was there—leaving hearts on her check, giving her discounts, and being overtly inappropriate. She said:
“I’d rather chew glass than entertain a POS like you. You mock Middle Easterners while chasing them behind your girlfriend’s back… you two deserve each other: ignorant, bitter, and weak.”
So now we’re looking at a bartender who targets women of color with racism and creepy, unwanted advances. It’s disgusting, and it’s dangerous.

Witnesses from that night who saw what happened.
And confirmation from other venues that Josh has been banned before for this same behavior. Don’t come to this place it literally does not deserve to be a part of Ardsley Park.

Loved the vibe of the spot but had terrible service. Wasn’t greeted coming in or when I sat at the bar, the bartender/server took my order and then didn’t come back or check in and eventually another bartender brought my food and responded to me when I asked for condiments. Overall okay but not worth a 30+ bill for a drink and room temp food.

Only been here once but I'm definitely cooking back. Lots of industry folks have been recommending this place and we decided to check it out. Loved it. The atmosphere, the cocktails, the food, and the vibe here were all great.
Easily the best cocktail lounge in SAV. Warren and Alexis are two of the best bartenders in the whole city. Absolutely must try it out, especially on pizza night.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience at Colleagues & Lovers this past Sunday! Despite being incredibly busy, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel lwereso welcome, attending to us promptly and with such a friendly attitude. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish we tried was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The wine list was impressive, with great options to complement the meal. The atmosphere is super inviting, with a cool and relaxed vibe that made for a perfect dining experience. Whether you're looking for a casual night out or special evening, this place checks all the boxes. We can't wait to return! Highly recommend!

I came from out of town to celebrate my birthday. My husband is a mixologist and restaurateur and he found this spot and likes the looks of the drink menu. They also had something for me to eat since I’m a vegetarian. It was really nice inside and pretty relaxing. The music stopped for the last hour we were there and it was 10 on a Saturday. It can be loud because there isn’t anything to absorb sound. Aside from that the service was fantastic. The team worked well together and easily prepared complex cocktails for a full bar. We asked for recommendations on the cocktails and each time were given great advice (although I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong) I had the ravioli which was excellent. The sauce was well flavored and seasoned and the pasta was very fresh. My husband had the veggie sandwich and it was incredible! We were checked on often and made to feel welcome which can be rare these days. This was a very special meal for me. The cocktails were all creative and well balanced. They were also beautifully decorated! The prices in the menu was a few bucks off for a few things but I didn’t say anything because it was worth it. We will certainly come back if we return to Savannah any time soon! Thanks for making my day special!
