Wowww! This place was unbelievable! So happy! The shrimp and grits was unbelievable. The soup was amazing. It was the crab soup and the blue crab puppies with out out of this world and the cornbread that came with the shrimp n grits! every single thing that we tried was amazing. The only thing I wish I could have more and I really want a room for the peach cobbler so I’m definitely coming back!

I guess the prices match downtown now.. and they got rid of a few favorites. Crab stew is never hot...

We stopped for dinner with party of 5 and ended up just having drinks. Wait time was 45 mins and we didn’t have that much time available. Will come back another time to try out the menu! Everything I saw carried to tables looked great! Great selection of draft beer and very fresh.

So glad we decided to eat here. My family and I have been visiting Savannah for years, but this was our first time here, and it did not disappoint. They had a special Oktobefest menu and we were able to try some of the items off of that menu. Also, their collard greens were excellent!

A Chef’s Perspective: Roach Found in Salad, Food Safety Concerns

As a chef, I understand that accidents can happen in any kitchen, but how they are handled defines a restaurant’s integrity.

My son ordered a Caesar salad that appeared slightly wilted, but we chose not to mention it. After a few bites, he discovered a roach in the salad. By then, he had already eaten several forkfuls and became violently nauseated, throwing up multiple times, including in the restroom where he said he saw another dark bug inside the toilet while throwing up, it came out with the salad he had just eaten.

Our server was incredibly kind and visibly shaken by what happened. She immediately took the plate to the manager, who returned claiming the insect was a moth. Having spent many years in professional kitchens, I can confidently say this was not a moth. It was a roach🪳 brown, segmented, unmistakable.

Initially, the manager only removed half the bill, despite the fact that we were barely 20 minutes into the meal and could not eat another bite. After the server advocated for us, the bill was finally fully comped. Still, the dismissive attitude from management was disappointing in a situation that clearly warranted compassion, accountability, and immediate corrective action.

The chips and crab dip we had before the salad also raised concerns, the chips had a stale, greasy taste, and the dip was completely flavorless. It made me question the kitchen’s overall sanitation and food quality.

This experience was not only upsetting but deeply alarming from a food safety standpoint. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and conducts a thorough inspection of its kitchen and storage areas. No guest should ever have to endure something like this, and no manager should ever downplay it when they do.

VERY RUDE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF IN GENERAL. I came here for the first time and ordered shrimp and grits. The food was not what I expected. Very creamy, cheesy, and had a funny taste so I asked to switch my order to a burger instead. The manager came to the table with an attitude and being very rude about the situation. She raised her voice and wanted to make a scene then stated I’ll be charged for the shrimp & grits AND burger, if ordered. SO, I only paid for the shrimp & grits that I tasted and didn’t like. The situation was not handled in a professional way and I will NOT be returning here ever again.

We loved it back when it was a beer garden and it’s still great as a parkour though we do miss the outdoor eating. The food was delicious. I had the Rindergulash. I wish there was less of mashed potatoes and more of the stew; it was delicious. My daughter had the giant soft pretzel which we all loved and she is looking forward to eating it for breakfast and lunch tomorrow. Husband had the pimento pig and he thought it was ok because the pork was smoked but had no seasoning or sauce. My other daughter had a burger and she loved it. The fries are great. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and nice.

I stopped in as I was exploring the city. Im very fond of any establishment that carries evil twin (craft beer brand). I had the crab stew and shrimp and grits. Grits were a bit soupy but not something I'm going to raise a fuss over since the flavor was there and thick grits might be personal preference on my part. Soup was delicious. Staff was friendly but also slow.
