Interesting restaurant experience. You think it's informal, but it's surprisingly low country upscale for being a diner/restaurant. We had a great server, but I can't remember his name, and I think we waited about 10 minutes. Our food was fantastic. The fried green tomatoes were just right. I had the Bowl o' Soul and I loved it. Wife had the chicken salad and said it was great. Our couple friends invited us, said they invite all their visiting friends to the Palace. Yup, it's a solid spot with a great location that packs a lot of value. I'm pleased!
We were happy with both the service and the food. I would have liked a vegetarian choice for soup, but my caesar salad was very good. My husband had the soup and sandwich and was happy with both. The crab soup was thick and creamy. It was very tasty. The sandwich was fresh and the bread excellent
Our first visit here was terrific. Our server, MJ, was very helpful and cheerful. We ordered the crab puppies as a starter. My husband and I shared the seafood plate that included shrimp, crab and flounder. It was delicious and enough for two. MJ encouraged us to try the dessert special carrot cake. I have never had any carrot cake that was this good (and large). We both recommend Crystal Beer and you’ll have a special experience if MJ is your server!
Wowww! This place was unbelievable! So happy! The shrimp and grits was unbelievable. The soup was amazing. It was the crab soup and the blue crab puppies with out out of this world and the cornbread that came with the shrimp n grits! every single thing that we tried was amazing. The only thing I wish I could have more and I really want a room for the peach cobbler so I’m definitely coming back!

I guess the prices match downtown now.. and they got rid of a few favorites. Crab stew is never hot...

We stopped for dinner with party of 5 and ended up just having drinks. Wait time was 45 mins and we didn’t have that much time available. Will come back another time to try out the menu! Everything I saw carried to tables looked great! Great selection of draft beer and very fresh.

So glad we decided to eat here. My family and I have been visiting Savannah for years, but this was our first time here, and it did not disappoint. They had a special Oktobefest menu and we were able to try some of the items off of that menu. Also, their collard greens were excellent!

Fabulous atmosphere & great staff. The food was so good & there's definitely enough served to take leftovers home. Highly recommend!

A Chef’s Perspective: Roach Found in Salad, Food Safety Concerns
As a chef, I understand that accidents can happen in any kitchen, but how they are handled defines a restaurant’s integrity.
My son ordered a Caesar salad that appeared slightly wilted, but we chose not to mention it. After a few bites, he discovered a roach in the salad. By then, he had already eaten several forkfuls and became violently nauseated, throwing up multiple times, including in the restroom where he said he saw another dark bug inside the toilet while throwing up, it came out with the salad he had just eaten.
Our server was incredibly kind and visibly shaken by what happened. She immediately took the plate to the manager, who returned claiming the insect was a moth. Having spent many years in professional kitchens, I can confidently say this was not a moth. It was a roach🪳 brown, segmented, unmistakable.
Initially, the manager only removed half the bill, despite the fact that we were barely 20 minutes into the meal and could not eat another bite. After the server advocated for us, the bill was finally fully comped. Still, the dismissive attitude from management was disappointing in a situation that clearly warranted compassion, accountability, and immediate corrective action.
The chips and crab dip we had before the salad also raised concerns, the chips had a stale, greasy taste, and the dip was completely flavorless. It made me question the kitchen’s overall sanitation and food quality.
This experience was not only upsetting but deeply alarming from a food safety standpoint. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and conducts a thorough inspection of its kitchen and storage areas. No guest should ever have to endure something like this, and no manager should ever downplay it when they do.

VERY RUDE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF IN GENERAL. I came here for the first time and ordered shrimp and grits. The food was not what I expected. Very creamy, cheesy, and had a funny taste so I asked to switch my order to a burger instead. The manager came to the table with an attitude and being very rude about the situation. She raised her voice and wanted to make a scene then stated I’ll be charged for the shrimp & grits AND burger, if ordered. SO, I only paid for the shrimp & grits that I tasted and didn’t like. The situation was not handled in a professional way and I will NOT be returning here ever again.
