Was ok trash little azz portions for high price
I recently learned about this restaurant and have been very excited to try it based on the positive reviews. My wife is Cuban and we love eating Cuban food. Unfortunately, I was not thrilled with the quality of most of the food we ordered. We went about 2:00pm and they were out of tostones and ham croquettes, which was fine (I'm glad they make them fresh). We ordered a pretty large sample size of their total menu, but both of our main entrees involved the lechon (more on that later).
First, the good. The potato and cheese croquette was very good. It was fried perfectly and had amazing flavor. The beef empanada was also very tasty with a great crunch. The cilantro/garlic sauce was awesome. The plaintains were pretty good, not great. Finally, the guava pastelito was flaky and buttery, even if I would have preferred more guava filling. These items were very good and worth purchasing.
Second, the bad. I ordered the lechon sandwich and my wife got the lechon plate with blackbeans and rice. Obviously, we are both huge fans of lechon. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the taste of the pork. It was almost like they forgot to season it. The black beans were decent, but the rice was very sticky/mushy and overdone. Both of us were extremely disappointed and didn't finish our meals. The chicken empanada had decent flavor, but the filling was very dry and hard to eat. The cuban toast was just pressed bread, they didn't even butter it or include butter for us to add. The picture on the website menu clearly looks buttered, so I'm not sure if they forgot or we were supposed to ask for it to be buttered.
I can't recommend this restaurant to other people with a clear conscience. Maybe their other non-lechon related items are good, but it was terrible. I see the owner is pretty active on reviews. I would challenge them to go Casa Guava and order their lechon sandwich as a direct comparison. It is night and day different quality and flavor. In my opinion, Casa Guava is an overall better restaurant if you like Cuban food. I like every one of their items better than The Cuban Window.

Soggy guava pastry. Not authentic

The Cuban both my friend and I received was so sloppily put together and it looked as if the worst cut of pork was thrown on the sandwich-truly disappointing

As Miami natives, we were hoping for a taste of home but left underwhelmed. The $15 sandwich was tiny, served on French bread instead of Cuban, with no side or drink—definitely overpriced. The flavor was just okay, the pastelito was cold, and while the coffee was decent, the service was incredibly slow. Not the best spot if you’re in a hurry for lunch.

Consistently rude, awful service by staff. We were regular customers here when they first opened and even recommended them to guests at our own business. Since 2023, however, the service here has been horrendous.
Not only do they frequently run out of food, the staff is consistently giving attitude to their customers. The eye rolling and underhanded comments are insane to witness from a small business. And while I understand some people don't mind rude service where you're talked down to as a person/customer, there's plenty of great food around the corner (Green Truck, Shuk, Casa Guava, etc.) to spend your money with.

They were out of everything on a Friday night at 7pm and the guy working the counter was incoherent and stoned.
I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was a sandwich on thin bread and a lot of mustard with a very high price, served inside a paper cartridge (bag).

Ordered a Cuban sandwich (no. 4 on menu). Instead we got the bread, scrambled egg, thick cuts of ham served separately. Cuban sandwich is also known for pulled pork which was nowhere to be found. There might have been another version of authentic Cuban sandwich on the menu but it was nothing like what I would expect. Pretty disappointing.

Great Cuban style breakfast sanguich (Cuban toast, ham, egg, cheese) and strong cafe con leche. Very friendly staff. Don’t let the gas station location fool you. Adding The Cuban Window to my Savannah must eat list.
