This place is amazing…all of it! The ambience is fantastic! The service is first rate and the food…perfection! If you want a perfect day out…include Gryphon in your itinerary! We easily found street parking. Our server included the history of the building which was really cool and when they brought the check it was in a book we could write in. There are a lot of special touches here.

I recently visited Gryphon in Savannah, and I have to say it's a must-visit spot. The restaurant is nestled inside a charming old pharmacy building and boasts the distinction of housing the city's first clock. Its location is perfect if you're planning to visit the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). One unique aspect of the service is that all the servers are current SCAD students, which adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the place. Remember to tip them well to support their education!
Now, let's talk about the food. I found the regular menu to be a bit underwhelming, but the brunch menu definitely redeemed the dining experience. However, I have to admit that the prices are a bit on the higher side, especially considering that it's not the best brunch spot in the city. That being said, the $20 afternoon tea tower is an absolute standout. It's a true classic and worth every dollar. And if you're a fan of hot chocolate, you absolutely have to try theirs – it's truly exceptional.
In conclusion, Gryphon is a fun and beautiful place to visit, with its historic setting and unique offerings. If you find yourself in Savannah, it's definitely worth stopping by for a delightful experience.
Parking: Plenty of paid street parking.

Absolutely amazing place. We came to Savannah for a long weekend and ate at several different places, but this was our favorite. Definitely the best quality to price ratio!!!

This is my favorite restaurant in Savannah. I love that it looks like a tea room in a library since it combines 2 of my favorite things! The shrimp and grits were great, the earl grey tea and the tropical green tea were lovely, and the tea sweets were cute and delicious! Highly recommend, see it for yourself!

If you're in the mood for some excellent quality food and service, this is your place. Gryphon does have an elevated look and atmosphere, but we went here after walking around Savannah wearing shorts and sneakers, so don't be deterred. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. The atmosphere is very classy feeling without being overboard. The food is phenomenal. I had a prosciutto, fig jam sandwich that seemed like a small size but was so tasty and just perfect. My date had the tea for lunch, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She said that even though it didn't seem like much, it wad so filling. This isn't a place to go for a big steak meal if that's what you're looking for. They serve perfect sized meals that are so flavorful and satisfying. Gryphon is really worth visiting for its excellent food and service.

Must try because the tearoom is so beautiful! Service from my waitress was abysmal. The table next to me had a better waiter who was actually friendly. The taste of the food was pretty poor. Even the tea was weak. But, at least, the prices are reasonable for the amount you get.

A descent place fur afternoon tea - the restaurant settings were great.
Tea selection was good. They offered both pot hot tea as well as glass of iced tea. However, the tea leaves were infused in the tea pot the whole time, which made it over-soaked after 10+ minutes.
We ordered the afternoon tea set. I was surprised to know that the set would provide four sweet desserts for one person order but six for two people (which was three per person). Did not quite understand the logic there. Nevertheless our server was nice answering our confusion.
In terms of food - the savory ones were tasty, nothing to complain. The sweets - I guess really depends on personal preference - some were too sweet for me.
