Really good food and atmosphere but 3 stars because it is always so freezing cold in there I can't enjoy my lunch.

Delightful light lunch spot in historic former apothecary on Bull St. Excellent service complete with a history lesson about the building! I had the chevre salad, my husband had the sesame tuna salad ( generous servings!) , and we had the scones of the day. I’d like to go back to try the afternoon tea!

Popped in for a small bite. I ordered french toast (absolutely delicious) while my wife had soup of the day (roasted buttermilk squash) and chef's mix tea sandwiches. Also very good.

My experience here was fantastic. I enjoyed a lovely brunch experience outside. My server was a complete sweetheart who provided a great story about the history of the restaurant. If in Savnnah I'd definitely recommend this place! The tea and desserts were sooo good!

Do NOT host an event here. We have had several events here in the past, but clearly changing ownership to SCAD has had a huge negative effect. First of all, we booked the event and they would not send us the menu options, we had to actually go in person to get a menu.

They told us we had two hours, from 11-1. Which was perfect. But when we arrived at 10:55, they had no tables set up for us. They didn’t take our order until 12:15.

The menu clearly stated that chicken salad comes with a croissant, but they served it with these hard pita things that were not good.

We were also supposed to have two petit fours per person that were presented on tiered plates. Instead we had some sort of trifle (nothing like the petit fours I have had there on numerous occasions) just sat on plates.

It was a terrible experience and I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your event needs.

Visited several times in Fall 2025.
This is a really cool brunch spot! We’ve done afternoon tea before that was pleasant, but brunch is where it’s at.
Service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and has some fun history around the location.
Their Crème Brûlée French toast is currently the best French toast in Savannah.
Great tea options, good quiche too.

Will absolutely be visiting again.

I searched forums high and low to arrive at Gryphon for a post-nuptials lunch. It could not have been more perfect for our small group of 6 with the food & beverage options, excellent quality, service, and interior. It was everything I could have hoped for. Thank you to the waitstaff and SCAD for giving this little gem life!

Lovely restaurant once was a Masonic temple then a pharmacy. Beautifully decorated and peaceful. We ordered the cream tea it was excellent but the scones are not very authentic as they were rock buns and a little dry. If they sold alcohol we would have stayed even longer as it is do restful. Well worth a visit.

Nice place to visit. The high tea sandwhiches and desserts were only OK, but the experience is worth it.

Worth it to dine in the beautiful historic space alone. The servers have their spiel down tight, and hearing the history was a perfect way to start the meal. We had two pots of tea, the salmon BLT, and the moroccan chicken sandwich. The sides of greek pasta salad and roasted potatoes are tasty as well. The food overall wasn't award winning, and if we go back I'd try the tea service tower, but overall it was a peaceful and elegant lunch. I think it's an experience I'd want to make a tradition on our future visits simply to relax with tea. Shoutout to the staff of students who make this place welcoming and polished!
