Visiting from Texas, we asked a local for a recommendation for soul food. He highly suggested Munchies and guaranteed that we would not be disappointed. We ordered 2 oxtail plates and a turkey wing plate. The oxtails were barely seasoned and over cooked. The macaroni & cheese was bland. The gravy was more like a thin broth. The greens were the best thing on these plates. Needless to say we WERE disappointed that we spent more than $60 and didn't get a meal that we could enjoy.

I always like eating here. The food is always good. Today my friend has my vehicle so I had to download Doordash app. First time doing this. I ordered my food didn't see an opinion of doing ribs and chops so I ordered chops. I call munchies immediately told them I'll pay the difference to split it half and half they said they couldnt. I said no big deal. I'll stick with the chops. The doordasher drops my food off I open my food I got what I ordered and had an extra tray in my bag I open it up and the place gave me a couple ribs for free. That was awesome to do. I will continue to support local.
Food is deliciously homemade and just like grandma and mama use to cook. They give you great portions and free treats with every meal. I would recommend this place to everyone. The only issue is that they are very expensive for the portions of food you get.
I ordered here couple weeks ago, food was overcooked, dry, cold, but the restaurant did right and corrected it, food is really good. The staff that work here is so friendly, nice, and make you feel welcomed. I most definitely recommend you try them out!

Listen!!!!! This food is bangin'! I got the pork chop plate with red rice, Mac n cheese and potato salad...my daughter has the chicken plate. It was delicious!!!! We couldn't even eat all! If you really want awesome soul food, please go to Munchie's, you will not regret it! I sure didn't!!!

I've driven by, windows down, smelling this wonderful smoked BBQ for a while before finally trying Munchies BBQ.I went in today and must say that the dining area was much larger than I expected. The staff were all so helpful and sweet.Now for the food... I ordered their oxtails plate with green beans and mac and cheese. Everything on my plate was amazing. The green beans were cooked with what I believe to be smoked rib meat. The mac and cheese is so creamy and covered in baked cheese. Usually with oxtails you get white rice, but I substituted white rice for the red rice with sausage and it was definitely a game changer. The oxtails were cooked PERFECTLY. The meat fell right off the bone and the gravy was phenomenal. I get oxtails at many different places in Savannah, but these oxtails I can personally say are the best I've had in the city. All together the best restaurant experience I've had in Savannah. Would 100% recommend and will absolutely be returning soon.SIDE NOTE(My friend got a pork chop plate and with the same sides I got. I tried the pork chops and they were so juicy and had amazing smoked flavor. it's hard to find a well cooked pork chop but they definitely have you covered! I would bet anything they offer is as amazing quality as what I've tried so far.)Parking: If parking lot is full, the gas station next door is a great second option.

I just recently found out about this place and I highly recommend it, the ribs especially, are on point. The desserts are just how I like it ?
My boyfriend and I took a weekend trip to Savannah and Munchies was our first stop for food. My only regret is we didn’t get to try the whole menu!! I ordered the deviled crab and he ordered the oxtails. We each got mac and cheese + collard greens as a side. Both entrees were delicious and the sides were mind-blowing! We also split a slice of coconut cake, which was the perfect end to an incredible meal. We’ll be back!
