I was pleasantly surprised when the first cake I sent to my family in Ohio brought great comments and many smiles. My inlaws are elderly folks in small town Ohio. And I love them and wanted to share something special. I researched and found the name of a place I visited when my wife and I visited our son in the Army in Georgia. The first cake - a dreamsicle cake looked great in the pics. It was so good my mother inlaw asked a few months later if I could repeat the order. And indeed - making an old woman happy was my pleasure. But what a disappointment. At first she refused to talk about it. She was literally mad about the experience. Basically it was nothing like the original and actually was poor quality. I was c rushed to think I imposed this on my mother-in-law. I called and left a message as the first step - though received no recognition of my call. Then I wrote via email...not once but twice. No reply. But then trying 2 other email addresses I did finally get a reply from someone who appeared to be a customers service manager. She promised to check into it and asked for my details which I promptly sent. A day went by - no reply. A week finally went by and I wrote again. She said - I am still trying to get resolution and will get back to you soon.

I am not wealthy - but I am ok paying good money for something of quality. These cakes cost 80 dollars each. The first one was great. So I guess I just hit the lottery - and they were just ok ignoring me. I have never heard back and I know now they just don't care what people think of their products. I want you to know - there are plenty of great places to buy a cake online. It seems Savannah Candy Kitchen is not one of these places.

Oh what a wonderful place this is! As I write this review at 2:45 AM from Ohio. Couldn’t sleep and had a weird craving for candy, we go to Hilton Head Island maybe 3-5 times a year and this candy kitchen is a must visit for us each time. We normally buy a boat load to bring home with us, our most recent visit was maybe 7 months ago. I just finally polished off the last piece of neapolitan fudge we brought home from y’all. I’ve been visiting this candy store since I was probably 5 years old. Having your candy here with us in our home state is almost like bringing a little bit of my happy place back home with me. 10/10 recommend to anyone thinking of visiting the store!

Best of the candy stores, IMO. Staff was friendly and welcoming. They have all the selections you could want- classic candies, vintage soda, ice cream, popcorn, pralines, and candy from wall to ceiling. This is a staple of a River street visit. They also have some great photo spots and a bench to enjoy your snacks.

It’s across the street from parking, boat tours, and down the block from the cute market. Lots of places close by to eat as well.

Rude checkout girl who seemed miserable to be. It was hard to get her to get us our treats behind the displays. They were yummy treats. We got a chocolate covered rice crispy treat and a gopher turtle.
