I was looking forward to this visit, but unfortunately the food and service did not meet expectations.
The biscuits were dry, flat, and bland, and the gravy had an off-putting sweetness while still lacking flavor overall. The coffee was also flavorless.
Vegan food does not need to be bland or unappetizing, and this meal missed an opportunity to show how satisfying and flavorful plant-based cooking can be.
Additionally, the cashier who took our order appeared unfriendly and had a poor demeanor, which further detracted from the experience.
Based on this visit, I would not return

This place has a really great atmosphere and excellent vegetarian and vegan options. One of the best places in Savannah for vegetarian and vegan breakfast. The coffee is well done and they have interesting coffee drinks.

I was looking for a great vegan food place while in Savannah and The Sentient Bean did not disappoint. Stopped in and grabbed their vegan breakfast burrito and an iced matcha tea.
The burrito was one of the best vegan meals I've had and the matcha was great quality and very good -- not overly sweet or watered down.
The overall vibe and atmosphere was extremely chill and very welcoming: typical of an offbeat, laid back coffee shop. There were ample seating options both in and outside. We stayed for about 30 mins.
Can't wait to come back for breakfast when we visit Savannah again.

So grateful you are open on Christmas Day! The staff were kind and welcoming. Phenomenal selection vegetarian options. Dirty chai latte was stronger than I expected but my future self thanks you! Breakfast burrito was light, fresh and paired nicely with the cup of salsa. Easy going atmosphere.
