Fried chicken was good. The fries, collard greens and especially the lima beams were awesome. The fried okra was not good- too small pieces. batter falling off and no flavor. Long wait times. Sauces etc were in plastic pouches, ambience was OK. Service was friendly.

I love the atmosphere and the service is good for the most part. I only ate here twice and both times I’ve ordered their vegan plates. The portions size isn’t worth the price. The first time, I was served some old greens that tasted like they might’ve been 4days - 1week old. I’m not sure but they definitely didn’t look nor, taste fresh. I wouldn’t recommend getting the greens if you’re vegan because the greens were cooked with meat… likely pork. I was able to tell because I saw pieces of fat in my greens. The second time, I ordered yellow rice and cook gave me white rice instead of communicating with me that they were out of yellow rice. The server had to check for me. I still took my food and was disappointed because I don’t usually eat rice so the white rice didn’t taste good at all.

This is definitely a place that you have to come to either early or a little bit after normal lunch time. I have the baked chicken with yellow rice and green beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw slaw, and the cornbread. To wash everything down had the hibiscus ginger tea 👍. Chicken fell off the bone and it was tender and juicy. I couldn't complain about anything. This place, is simplicity at its finest.

Best fried chicken and southern staples I've had. Chicken had the perfect mix of crispy well seasoned breading while juicy on the inside. Really gives you the full Savanah southern cooking experience with incredible fresh food, customer service, and options. The wait time can be a bit during lunch but the food is well worth the wait.

We loved everything about this hidden treasure, from the chill, homey vibe, to the extremely friendly service, and especially the amazing food! We ordered the oxtail, fried shrimp plate and the fish plate and found each generous portion to be well seasoned, fresh, and well prepared. Dont sleep on the Mac and cheese, either--wow! Can't wait to come back the next time we are town!

I really only want to give 5 stars for the fried chicken. I ordered white meat. It was seasoned well and its juicy. I also ordered sides, rice w/gravy, Mac n cheese, greens and candied yams. Rice is ok, but the yams and the greens... There's some sort of weird flavor, idk how to describe it but I can't eat it. The Mac n cheese is ok. I wouldn't order any of the sides again.

They open at noon so I arrived when they opened! It took well over an hour to receive the order. I ordered the baked chicken; it was so salty I couldn’t eat it - it tasted like it was marinated ed in sea water! The carrot cake was $7 a slice - the portion was the size of a homemade cake! The layers were extremely thin and the cake was the consistency of a cake pop! Don’t waste your time and money!

Good food is always worth the wait! We waited about 35 minute for our food and the food was worth it! We ordered the beef stew with yams and collards and then the whiting with yams and collards. All food was seasoned perfectly, fresh and well made!!! Disclaimer: Do not come if you are not willing to wait at least 30 minutes for your food they let you know this before ordering!

I try not to leave bad reviews! We were traveling from out of town. Arrived promptly at Noon when they opened. I didn't get my food until 1:06. I had to go up and ask why it was taking so long. There are plenty of signs that posted...pack your patience, we don't mind cooking if you don't mind waiting. But some waits in business are not acceptable. My husband's waffles were cold and were the drop and fry and not freshly made. I did receive a portion of my money back.
If you go, expect an hour plus wait. That's just facts. We saw customer after customer waiting. There was a new cook, but turn off Door Dash and focus on the customers in front of you.
I hope the review offers a reflection not a put down.
