If you like Southern food with a healthier presentation and a laid back vibe, then this is the place for you! I had the whiting and grits! The grits were on point! My husband had the salmon and yellow rice—equally delicious! The restaurant is quaint and warm. The portions are huge—we couldn’t eat everything, so we have leftovers for tomorrow .We highly recommend!

Wonderful place to visit! I'm from Pa and was looking to find a casual, home style cooking restaurant to experience southern style cooking. This was honestly my favorite restaurant of my entire vacation! The food was delicious, with generous portions. The atmosphere was cute and the owner was very friendly. I had the baked chicken over yellow rice with collards and fried okra. I tried collard greens at several other restaurants and these were my favorite! My bf had fried chicken over yellow rice, sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese. Wish I lived closer I would be back often!

Food is always more special when it is made with love. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Simple Soul of Savannah. We came to visit Savannah and on our last day found this place guided by glowing reviews. We ordered Fried Whiting, Grilled Shrimp with sides of Collard Greens, Baked Mac and Cheese, Fried okra and Coleslaw. This ended up being the perfect farewell for our trip. It truly made our time in Savannah special and unforgettable. I highly recommend Simple Soul of Savannah - it’s a must-visit and we hope to be back!

But please come ( when you have some time tp spare just in case), you wont be disapppointed! The food here was absolutely amazing. We had a fish and grits meal and a salmon and French fry meal. They make everything fresh to order which means it takes long but it is SO worth it. Just make sure you aren’t in a rush. We also ordered the peach lemonade which was squeezed right there on the spot as well.The only negative thing I can say is the lady behind the counter was overwhelmed. I have no complaints because I wasn’t in a rush but if this place could get a better prep system to cut down on the wait time, it would be that much better.Overall I 100% recommend and will be returning to try some of the other menu items.
