I came here with my wife on a two-day business trip. For me, outside of the 8–6 work grind, good drinks are the only real relief. We tried five bars in two days, and this one was easily the best. The atmosphere, drink quality, pricing, and service all deserve top marks. Big shout-out to the owner, Grayfel, and the bartender, Joshua (sorry if I misspelled your names) — both were incredibly friendly, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
We came in for drinks twice. Both times the bartenders were preoccupied with talking to their mates. They weren't particularly friendly or welcoming, and the bar is pretty nondescript, so I can't say we'd stop in again, even if we were staying in the beautiful East Bay Inn, which they are attached to.
I had the Love & Thorns gin fizz, and an interesting salted watermelon rye. Bartender Joshua was very friendly. Nice atmosphere and the perfect pit stop before or after River Street. Would recommend!
