The 5 Spot Midtown - Neighborhood Kitchen and Bar

Had lunch here yesterday. Atmosphere was inviting, low light music playing. Place was clean. Service was great. Waiter/Bartender, didn't catch his name, but he had a wonderful personality and he provided us with great service. We didn't have long wait time on food. Food was great. Fried green tomatoes and mozzarella bites. Can't remember what my friend ordered. It was a bowl of something that looked very good and she enjoyed it. They have plenty of healthy options to chose from, that I didn't do. I had the 5 spot smash burger added bacon with fries. Their sauce that they put on it was great, didn't need to add anything more. Bacon was quality, veg was fresh. Fries were crisp and very tasty. I feel the prices were fair. The proportions were fine. All around great experience. Yes, I'll definitely be back to try other things on their menu. Thanks for giving a great experience!

Party of 7, all of our dishes were excellent. Service was definitely slow at 1:30pm. We were seated near the bar so we missed out on the atmosphere of the main dining area. It was a cold day which means every time the doors to the restaurant opened we got chilled. They would benefit from installing one of those units above the doors that prevents cold or hot air from coming inside by blowing down. Just a thought.

Second time here and so good. Loved the meatloaf meal, mashed potatoes are awesome, and the hot honey chicken sandwich was delicious. We liked the blackened salmon but broccoli lacked flavor and seemed slightly undercooked. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in Savannah!

This is a very, very good place to eat. I had the shrimp po-boy and it was delicious, plus the waffle sweet potato fries. Olivia was our server and she was both there and not. Which is perfect, she was not hovering, but was there checking at perfect intervals. Highly recommend!

I am in town while my mother is in hospital so flying solo. It's nice to find a place where I can dine alone comfortably. There were other women dining alone also...maybe we should start a club. Shrimp and grits very good with layered, complex flavors (more like polenta). Espresso martini a bit simple, needed a cream-bases liquor but still good. Service friendly, authentic, and efficient. Someplace I am imagine coming back to regularly.

The food was great! The service needs attention. The young waitstaff seemed more interested in their phones than serving customers. We had to get up to walk in order to find our waitress to get the check. Once again, the food was great!

I had the Buddha bowl with salmon, it was ok. The atmosphere and staff were friendly and welcoming! Our server Sierra was fantastic! She was friendly, funny and all around phenomenal. She deserves a raise!

This location is always busy but great staff to greet and seat you. Food is delicious and price point is great. There is some seating outside and a nice bar area. This restaurant could take over another larger space, thats how busy they can get.

Kid-friendliness: Great place with food made from scratch. Kids love it.

Amazing bar service. William always pores a spectacular 5-spot margarita. If you like pomegranate, you'll love this drink. Shrimp and grits is outstanding but the meatloaf is the second string. 😋 The "loaded potatoe cracklins" are hardy and delicious. For the southern folks, the "collard green and bacon dip is amazing. Lunch fare includes a blackened salmon salad (lemon shallot vinegarette), the Cuban or 5 Spot smash burger. Nice wine list, mostly American beer list. Some minibrewery options. Woodford and basil haden are available for the whiskey afficionado.

Kid-friendliness: Inside not really a child atmosphere. Although outside seating can handle family seating.

Wheelchair accessibility: Nice wide entrance, nice wide aisles and wheel chair pull up tables.

Kali was so personable. The food was SO GOOD! We’re so glad we found this little gem and can’t wait to go back next time we visit. I would HIGHLY recommend.
