I wanted to love this restaurant but the food simply did not deliver. For $85/pp for just the food, we expected so much more. Love where the restaurant is located. In a building built as a bus terminal in 1938 for Greyhound. For our first courses (pantry), we had the country ham and beets & mole. The saltines were tasty but a weird adder to the ham dish. The olives had a nice smoky flavor. Our starters were the Baba Ghanoush (with carrots, not eggplant) and Savannah red rice. Our mains were Chicken Country Captain and the Dayboat catch which I believe was red snapper. In all, just bland flavors. We weren't starving at the end but the pantry and starter dishes were small. There is an option to get bread but at an additional cost! Should be included when we are paying $85/pp.

I planned a weekend in Savannah for a solo trip this month that included dinner at The Grey. I made the reservation a month in advance and indicated it was a birthday ( for myself). The reservation was in the 7:00 hour on a Saturday night, so the restaurant was busy, but not crowded. I was greeted by a pleasant hostess who, after a few minutes, walked me into the main dining room and, to my surprise, seated me at the bar. The space is beautifully designed but very dimly lit. It was difficult to read the menu, which was a prix-fixe for $85. I spent some time with the diversity of choices and started with a chopped ham dish that came with olives and peppers. It was a good appetizer, but also underwhelming in that it was served with a handful of saltine crackers to add some crunch, I assume. Next was a medium sized plate of Savannah red rice with tomato and peppers and it was excellent. The main was called the chicken country captain and while it was a large portion and well prepared, it was just good, not great. I would certainly return to The Grey to try some other dishes, but I was very disappointed to be seated at the bar. It did get busier throughout the evening and it was not my plan to watch bartenders bustling at work while fine dining.

Sunday brunch with no reservation had us at the bar in the first room. Ambience is intriguing, seats at the bar were uncomfortable but the quiche was prepared to perfection!

Set inside a beautifully restored 1930s Greyhound bus station, this place oozes charm and confidence. Had the scallops with sweet corn purée — delicate, buttery, and absolutely nailed. Service is smooth, the lighting soft, and every detail feels intentional. Savannah elegance without the snobbery.

Set in a restored 1930s Greyhound station, this place somehow blends old-school elegance with modern soul. Had the scallops with corn purée — absolutely killer. Service was smooth and genuine, and the room feels both nostalgic and alive. Savannah charm at its best.

The restaurant is set in a building with a lot of history, and its story is aligned with the changes in Savannah over a long period of time (e.g., former Jim Crow era bus station, a former bakery).

The food was the best culinary experience we had during our entire stay in Savannah. It was one of the few places that lived up to all the hype surrounding Savannah gastronomy. The menu for brunch is small, so they’re not trying to do too much, just a few things really well.

We had the duck pastrami, the omelette, the fried chicken with hoecakes, and the Bloody Mary. All great. They had live music playing, and the kitchen staff clearly took pride in all of their work and presentation of the food.

Few things first. Restaurant is very transparent so people rhat are surprised it’s one price kinda on you. It’s pricey but no more so than like capital grille where steak side and salad will run 85 or more. It’s upscale and what it is
We thought the food was all good interesting and fun. The first course is small. My soup was four spoons. But was delicious. Carpaciao was spicy and good. The oyster dish was different with peanut sauce
Mains were very good but more “ normal”. Chicken was cooked perfect and has nice flavor. Maybe could have used a side. Fish was very good but basically grilled fish and veggies No desert full. Two glasses of wine that are different and reasonably priced
We felt we had a “dining” experience and the pride was worth it
Tables are close but we found people chatted and had fun. You don’t have too but we enjoyed sharing experience with neighbors
It’s probably a 1-3 time a year place but for a full “dining” experience we worth it

Large open seating area with high ceiling allows for noisy atmosphere. Prix frixe menu. Three courses. I was brought a soup, but no spoon. By the time I got waitstaff attention, the entire table was finished their starters. My soup had cooled down. I requested to have a fresh / warmer one brought out and was not given a kind look. After that, we were attended to quite nicely.

Housed in a restored Greyhound bus station, this place nails atmosphere and flavor. I had the scallops with sweet corn purée — simple but perfect. Service is calm, the lighting’s warm, and everything feels intentional. It’s one of those dinners where you realize halfway through you’re grinning for no reason.

Fancy cocktails in a beautifully renovated former bus depot. Yes, please! From the preserved signage outside to the period banquets, The Grey is a great experience; not just a drink

In a restored Greyhound bus terminal, this place nails elegance without being stiff. Had pan-seared scallops and a side of creamed corn — flavors pop, plating’s artful. The staff has that warm Southern hospitality, never rushed. It’s one of those meals you remember.
