We were celebrating my mother in law's birthday, so we booked this restaurant. The evening was going well until we sat down, we were sitting there for at least 10 minutes before being recognized or approached by our server. He was very attentive to the other tables around us but not so much to our table. I can't give you a name because he never greeted us with his name, however he was African American as were we, he was tall and well spoken with a low haircut but for some reason he seemed annoyed when it came to our table. We had a party of six including two seniors so it threw us off by his non chalante attitude towards our table. Anyways the ambiance and food were good but the service was definitely sub par. Again, he never introduced himself so I can't give his name but he definitely needs to reconsider his career choice. He's fortunate that my wife decided to pay the bill because if it were up to me I would've given him exactly what he deserves, $0! DO BETTER SIR, whatever your name is.
Food & service were great! Atmosphere of restaurant is fantastic! Gift shop upstairs is fun.
It was a great experience - good food, great service, historic buildings - unfortunately we were seated in the Captains Room which was over-air conditioned to the point that our entire party complained. Walking through the other rooms in the historic structure was quite comfortable. We asked our server if it could be adjusted not to blow so hard in that room but was told it was subject to the management's discretion. 5 star review if you are seated in a room where the temperature can be regulated.
whenever you have a theme restaurant like Pirates house you would question whether the food is good. The food is outstanding. The fried chicken is special and clinical drinks were solid. Definitely for me a five star.
Don't know why they allowed an 8:30 reservation and then berated us for booking such a late dinner. Rushing us out and very rude. We were practically rushed out of there in 30 min.
Lots of places to dine in these funky old buildings cobbled together over time. Food was very good. We had the ahi tuna and pecan covered chicken. Generous portions.
Service was great, food came out very quickly. Shrimp was good with plenty to eat. Chicken was just ok. Got a couple drinks. Peach martini was not good. Too much peach, had kind of a syrupy taste.
The Pirate House was awesome. The food was delicious. The drinks were good. The pirate tour was nice.
Going to the pirate house for their Thanksgiving buffet is now a yearly tradition. I book months in advance! It is very high quality and of course nothing can beat the atmosphere!

I loved this place. Although, I didn't expect it to be as kid friendly as it was. Overall a great experience and full of pirate ambience!

This was my second visit to this establishment. Last being about a year ago. It appears they have changed the food items or the way things are cooked. Had some of the best shrimp and grits here a year ago. Tonight was not so great. Granted last time was lunch and tonight was dinner. The portions seemed to be skimping too on a dish that is over $27. The taste was very bland as well. Whoever decided to change up the recipe messed up. The atmosphere was still the same nice theme and the wait staff was friendly.

Just love the theme of the place. I feel like everyone should get here once. My food was just alright. The fried green tomatoes app was excellent but my entree was the crab cake sandwich and it was mushy with a dry bun so I was less than impressed.
My buddy loved the crab soup though so I guess it just depends what you order. I wouldn't come back but glad I went once. :)

The biscuits were delicious but the corn muffins one of them was hard as a rock. I ordered the, what I call Captain's platter. The fish was delicious but the oysters were cooked to nothing but a crust. The shrimp presented beautifully on the platter but I didn't care for the seasoning. For the price we paid it should have been much better. Anytime I'm downtown Savannah is a blessed time. I wished my dining experience had been a little bit better.
