Heather was an amazing server. She was excellent. Attention to detail. Local and repeat customer of this restaurant. Disappointed in quality of food. Very salty throughout dishes. Resturant seemed loud as well.

As a local, I can confidently say Vic's on the River is one of my absolute favorite spots in Savannah. It is the definition of consistent excellence. Whether I'm bringing guests or just enjoying a dinner out, the service is always impeccable and the food is outstanding. It captures the true spirit of Southern hospitality without ever feeling touristy. It's a staple in my rotation for a reason—highly recommend!

What a delightful experience! The views, the meal and service were all top notch! We loved Vic's and will be back for sure our next time in town. Wonderful place.

Delicious food, great service, not overloud, you can carry on a conversation even with almost every table full. Just a great place to have a great dinner. We are locals and just love the place.

Let me preface this review by saying our server was great. She was personable and welcoming. After that it was a disaster. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and my celebrating a cancer free diagnosis after radiation and chemo therapy. We came to Savannah and Vic’s on the River because of a fantastic experience 3 yrs ago. We ordered She Crab Soup, Scallops with Cheese Risotto and Braised Short Rib over mashed potatoes. Everything came out at the same time and cold. Our waitress apologized and brought it back to be refired. The soup came out hot and was delicious. The Braised Short Rib was hot and delicious. The scallops were a disaster again. Cold and rubbery scallops. Risotto is suppose to be creamy and smooth. My risotto was cold again and lumpy. I gave up and sent it back. The waitress offered to bring something else but I was over it. She came back, apologized again and said she told the manager who “allowed her to take it off the bill”. The manager never came by to speak me and I couldn’t wait to leave. I was so aggravated I just wanted to get out of there. Needless to say the night was ruined as was my wife’s birthday dinner.

Great experience dining for lunch on a rainy day. Atmosphere is beautiful, server was personable and knowledgeable. The food was amazing for the four of us. Shrimp and grits were delicious and the best I've had in recent times down south. All of the food was fresh and they accommodated any requests we had. Kudos to the chef who is from Louisiana and takes pride in his cooking.

Our meal started with the fluffiest mini-biscuits with honey butter unlike any I've had before! I had shrimp and grits; the shrimp were tender and delicious without the sauce, however there was a nice sauce over them that contrasted well with the cheddar grits. My husband had fried seafood; the slaw was freshly made, the coating on the fish was crispy and thin so it didn't hide the seafood and the hushpuppies were crispy outside and tender inside. We have two more nights in Savannah and are considering returning for another meal - it was so good and the price was reasonable for the location and quality of the meal. The service was very good and, while we didn't aim for a fast meal, we were out the door in a hour. That means we didn't have to wait long to order or receive our bill, which we appreciated.

This restaurant has a nice and charming vintage interior. I enjoyed the flavorful braised-beef short ribs. I am sure that local and visitors can relish unforgettable meals in this restaurant that blends tradition with contemporary culinary flavors.

Made reservations for two since they are always busy for dinner. Had a dry martini which was excellent. Ordered the special of tile fish and risotto with vegetable. An excellent dish. Had the appetizer of calamari which was great. Cheese cake outstanding. I would recommend Vic's on the River when in Savannah Ga.

We loved our dinner so much that we came back 2 days later. Great service from Alex. Crab cake was a highlight, got that both times. Also braised short rib. Great location next to the river in the heart of the action. Check out the map on the back wall that was hand drawn by a civil war soldier.

Compared to several other restaurants, Vic's on the River has the more upscale interior, and location is ideal right across from the famous Riverboat. We (2) lunched Monday, was about 25% full, but service was very slow. Server and employees were polite. Some ingredients varied from the menu description which we found out after food was served, example the fried green tomato app. the tomatoes were pickled and then fried (yuck), the pecan flounder was not served with grits...otherwise the quality of the food was very nice.

It was a perfect dinner experience. All requests were honored. The Halibut was cooked to perfection. Daniel, waiter was outstanding. Hostesses were gracious and wonderful. I am a tour guide in Savannah and will recommend Vic’s on the River to all. The experience was seamless. My friends from out of town were impressed. Thank you to all for a wonderful evening. Even the valet which was not part of the restaurant was terrific.

We booked this reservation 5 months ago. It was our one year anniversary. They sat us in between two tables and beside a screaming infant. I requested a water view, which we did not get and the tables beside us were so close it felt like we were dining together. The food was great but if you have an occasion, they do not respect your requests.
