Great food, atmosphere, and service
We listened to some singing by a couple near the bar and it was wonderful. Food was excellent. We would certainly return again and again here

Great food and atmosphere. Don't get it confused with the grill. (Haven't eaten there) Vics is only accessible from the road front. The grill is lower level access it from the river side. Helps if you have a reservation to go to the correct one.

Vic’s is a really nice place in a really good location. On one side, you have some of the historical structures from early Savannah and all of the shops and restaurants and other such places on Bay Street and over. On the opposite side, you find yourself looking down at River Street and the river. Very scenic, and Very beautiful. It’s kind of interesting that you enter at street level. But when you walk to the backside where the river is, you’re looking at the river from about three or four stories above ground level.

We went there on our anniversary. Getting there, getting seated, and getting acquainted with the menu all went very well. My wife started with the she crab soup, which was delicious. I had the French onion soup, which was also equally delicious. For entrées, I had the 8 ounce fillet, which was done perfectly and, dare I say, it was almost too tender. My wife had the seafood melange which she thought was very delicious as well. I tried the scallops that were with her dish, and this is one of the few places I have gone that had perfectly cooked scallops. We did not have a dessert. Service here was really good, and we appreciate that multiple different people from the restaurant checked in on us throughout our meal. It really felt like an experience. Vic’s a little pricey, but I feel that the meals were worth the price. There were also some lower priced options, while ours were close to the $50 per plate range

The reason we gave it four stars is the environment did lack a little. We felt like the tables were a little too close together. It was a little difficult to have a private conversation with somebody sitting so close to you. It was also exceptionally loud in there. It wasn’t deafening, but I felt as if the sounds were echoing or being amplified by the acoustics. I felt as if this place is trying to project a romantic, upscale vibe. The background noise kinda took away from that little bit.

But overall, we had a great experience and I’m pretty sure we will be back.

We were lucky to walk in and get a cozy table in the bar area without reservations. Our server was friendly and attentive. The biscuits and honey butter were delicious. I ordered the salmon dish. The outside had a perfect crisp while keeping the inside moist and perfectly cooked. Hubby loved the smash burger.

We have been dining at Vic’s for more than 20 years and never have a bad experience and this was no exception. From start to finish all was amazing! Stephanie was a fabulous server and the highlight of our evening was chatting with O’Shea while we waited briefly for our table. What an asset he is to Vic’s! If you’re on the fence wether to dine here just go for it and be sure and order the she crab stew!

Vic’s on the River was outstanding! I started with the Riesling Pear Salad, which was light, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My lunch entrée was the seared scallops—perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the Caesar salad and the Blackened Seafood Alfredo, and everything was fresh and tasty.

Our waiter, Rick, was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. He even brought me the bottle of delicious Riesling so I could photograph it for a future purchase. We loved everything about this place and can’t wait to return@

The view overlooking the river is a plus. We started with the calamari and was disappointed that they weren't crispy. The tomatoes were actually soggy so without a crispy batter the dish was mediocre.. I had the Caesar salad which was good. The French was ok, not great.

Very disappointed. Nice interior but so noisy in main dining room we could hardly hear each other. Food took a very long time and was not great. Shrimp and grits had a shrimp shell, pork chop presentation was bland and fish plate was missing the. Cole slaw. Server was pleasant but not exceptional. Would not choose again or recommend. Too many other choices in the area.

I was in town for a girls weekend a we actually ate at Vic's twice because the food was soooooo good!fried green tomatoes are amazing,as is the octopus appetizer . The entree crab cakes shrimp and grits, stuffed grouper and the swordfish special with risotto was all fantastic. The she crab soup actually had crab in it and the drinks were all made perfectly! Would definitely eat there again if I ever go back and would highly recommend to everyone!!!

After a little confusion regarding location (because this restaurant has almost the same name as the restaurant two doors down) we enjoyed a lovely meal with friends at Vic's On the River. Our server was very nice and attentive. I can't remember what everyone ordered, but I know that the French onion soup was a huge hit with the two ladies that ordered it for an appetizer. The fillet I had was cooked to temperature and delicious. One of our friends got the fried seafood platter and it was enormous! The meal was prepared and delivered at a leisurely pace. We were not in a rush and enjoyed the relaxed pace, but I know sometimes people are in more of a rush, so I thought I would mention it. This is a place to sit and enjoy a meal, maybe not a place to book before rushing off to a tour.
