Wang's II Chinese Restaurant

Nice spot but the food is not much better than your corner takeout. The duck was dry...although we knew that it was a gamble...the spicy dumplings were not cooked properly. They were hard. We got the shrimp, scallop and beef dish as a back up. The scallops and shrimp were clearly not fresh. The scallops had that freezer burn taste. The pic is what we didn't/couldn't eat. Nice folks good atmosphere. The location might give you high expectations for the food - lower them.

I ordered through DoorDash on 9/27. Smallest and worst egg roll I've ever had. Sweet and sour chicken was dry, served with uncooked vegetables. Sweet and sour sauce was not good either. Very disappointed. A few days later I ended up in the ER because of a virus and I can't imagine where else I would've come into contact with one except for a restaurant I'd never ordered from.

We ordered the veggies gyozas and that was good. Everything went downhill from there… Dry duck, tasteless fried rice, okay orange chicken. My husband and I had a bad stomach ache after.

We order from this place all the time, but tonight’s order was even better than normal. I always ask for General tso’s and another random chicken dish, with multiple other great apps especially the crab ragoons(best in Savannah). Tonight the general tso’s actually was extra spicy and so was the chicken chow mein. Whoever the chef was tonight, give that man a raise. All the rest of the food was amazing as well! This place stays consistently good, and recommend it as well!

09/29/24 (Takeout order)

After the hurricane aftermath, finding a good restaurant was hard to do. My wife and I decided to try some Chinese since it had been a while and we wanted to enjoy some fresh food since we had been without power for days. We did not want to order much since we had no way to save it so we decided on 3 orders:
General Tso Chicken, fried rice, egg roll
Orange Chicken, fried rice, egg roll and a side order of vegetable fried rice. We were excited about the order because we keep hearing how Wangs 2 is one of the best takeout sports here in Savannah for Chinese. When we were told over the phone that the order total was $50 we were a little shocked but I am guessing that charge nearly $17 for a combo plate now. Plus, the side order of rice must of been well over $10. Nevertheless, we paid for the order and got home to a complete letdown. The only thing good that happened that night was us getting out power back. The food was bland and the General Tso Chicken was unnecessarily spicy. I also do not under this policy where you can’t substitute veggie fried rice for their white rice in the combo plates. Food gets a 5/10 rating and its average at best. I will be trying that place out in Georgetown or E Tang next since they are supposed to be good but this place is not up to par. I will not ever go back and I have had better Chinese food from various hole in the wall locations across the southeastern United States. Very disappointed and overall this will not be my go to Chinese restaurant here in Savannah.
