I went to the Starland yard and decided to try Toshi's Kitchen. The menu actually looked awesome so I was excited to try a couple of the items. I got the Gyoza, the Yoshi fries, and the Tempura Cheesecake. Lets start with the fries. First off waffle fries are my favorite, so I was very excited to see that's what I got! On the menu, it stated a special sauce and some seasoning. But unfortunately, it lacked both of those things. Some of the fries had a little on them, but overall it just tasted like fries. They definitely need to give you more on top of them or give you something to dip. It's a pretty good-sized portion for the price though. Next, let's talk about the Gyoza, fried dumplings. They were tiny little things and you get 5 with a pack of soy sauce. Overall they were pretty flavorful, just wish they were normal-sized instead of mini. Last, the fried cheesecake. Man, that was good! You get a slice with a dollop of whipped cream, a cherry, and some chocolate specks. I highly recommend getting this! It was fried perfectly, very creamy, and tasted so yummy in my tummy! The cheesecake will definitely have my coming back again.

Went tonight after feedback from my brother last week. Place was quiet at first but soon filled up. Some just getting takeaway others having drink and food. So much choice we couldn’t decide. But in the end had Chindi food. Bloody lovely. Can’t wait to visit this Barkingside Gem again. Please go. You won’t be disappointed ☹️

Went to starland yard and their food truck was there, it was the lesser of three evils. The description of what we ordered sounded like it would be good. We were wrong. To start with their entire process was so disorganized and ( forgive me ) ass backwards. My husband , a long time supply chain engineer was beside himself, because he knew how to make their whole enterprise work better to not only serve people faster but also help them actually triple their money! But that aside, the food was terrible. TERRIBLE! I'm sorry but it was white rice, with a breaded pork cutlet ( way over done and dry) on top of said rice and the "veggie" was onions, two carrots and one small floret of broccoli and the topping? Drizzled mayo and yellow mustard. Seriously, what Asian food EVER uses yellow mustard or mayo??? It was awful. Period. A-w-f-u-l! Should have eaten at wormhole!

I had the pork belly bowl! The pork was so tender and delicious. However the rest of the bowl did not have as much flavor. I added a bit of Siracha to spice it up, it really did the trick! It still amazes me the great food that can be made inside a food truck!

Paid way too much for a bowl of rice and fat. Don't get the steak bowl. Way too pricey for the shit quality.

Love them! They are awesome! Their vegetarian bowl is amazing with a combination of fresh-pickled and cooked veggies, the rice is always perfect and the sauce is the bomb! My husband tries a new meat-based bowl each time and we've never been disappointed so they cover the whole spectrum! Whenever they're at an event we're attending, this is the truck we look for. I've even pulled over to buy us lunches when I've spotted them out in town around meal times. And I follow them on Facebook to find out where they'll be next! Yoshi's is a must at events where most of what you can get from a food truck is the same greasy, fried, smothered something, this is nutritious & delicious!

I haven't had chicken like this in such a long time!! I had the karaage chicken bowl today and it came with rice, sautéed veggies, and garnish. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection, I will surely go to them anytime I see their truck! I wish there were more small things I could order like I see in one if the other pics posted. It's very hard to find good Japanese food in SC, but you can tell they take pride in what they serve and the taste backs that up. I'm super excited to taste their food again soon!

I ordered from their food truck yesterday on River Street at St Pats. I ordered a fried chicken leg. When I first saw it, I was excited. It looked awesome and it was huge. I soon realized it was pretty flavorless. Then, I ate half of it and realized the inside wasn't fully cooked. The inside near the bone was still bleeding. I took it back and got a refund, which was given. It kinda seemed like they were trying to cover it up the way they took the chicken and asked how I paid, but maybe it was completely coincidental and they were just trying to ensure I got a refund. I was terrified of getting salmonella to the point I think I made myself nauseous.

I saw this truck a week or so ago. I stopped in last week for lunch. I met the 2 owners inside and ordered their pork belly rice bowl. It had some really good marinated pork belly that was also quite tender. The veg were also cooked just right. Al dente but cooked. I did enjoy my meal. Now I went back again today cause they are parked close to home depot and I go there a lot. Today I got their fried shrimp which were tempura battered and lightly fried. Now mine were over just a bit but everything else in my bowl was cooked right. I also liked their version of shrimp sauce. I noticed that their menu has grown a bit and ordered their dumpling. They were also fried and the filling was mighty tasty too. So if you like food truck and everyone should. You should really stop in for some good food.
