I just moved around here, there are some negative and many positive reviews, and after reading the reviews, I still want to try it. I think the overall experience is pretty good. The taste suits my taste. lomein is different from other Chinese restaurants, it tastes a bit like pasta. The staff is also very friendly. I will come back.

The best Chinese food I have ever had! The egg rolls and crab ragoons are unreal and all the entrees are phenomenal. I eat here every time I'm in town for work and it has been consistently awesome! I've referred others and they all agree with my review.

This place has been my go to since I’ve moved to Smyrna. I’ve only ever ordered take out or delivery and I’ve never had an issue with time or food quality. I’ve only had an issue once and I only mention it to that management is super helpful, understanding, and treated me like a friend. You can’t go wrong visiting here.

It’s been a few years since I last visited until yesterday…. Boy oh boy has this place declined! I believe they are under new management. Everything tastes different, in a bad way. Fried rice smelled and tasted awful and left me feeling queasy. Tangerine shrimp tasted bland and not sweet/savory like before. Everyone at my table complained that their dishes tasted reheated/lukewarm and not fresh. Atmosphere energy was low and sullen, maybe because of other disappointed customers. This was once my favorite Chinese restaurant, but sadly not anymore…

Love the crispy things they bring to the table. (No idea what to call them) Food is good. I have tried several of the dishes and haven't been disappointed.

Called for a take out order. Phone was answered with a hello, and I had to ask of this is House of Chan, should have hung up then. Had a taste for egg drop soup with crispy noodles and asked for extra noodles I was told extra would be $3! For an extra crispy noodle…I declined! Ordered the soup and chicken fried rice. When I arrived the restaurant smelled of cleaning fluids, it was late so I get it…but to handle the bag of food with your cleaning gloves on is unsanitary. have no idea where those gloves have been! Only hope my food was not prepared with them..
The food was not good…worst fried rice I’ve ever had super bland had to use all of the soy sauce and I never even use soy sauce. Terrible experience all around. Wont be back

I browsed this restaurant on Google, which is a very delicious Chinese food. The restaurant is very clean and the service attitude is very good. It makes me feel very comfortable.
I heard that it is a Chinese restaurant with a long history, and many former guests came back to eat again. For me, it was a very surprising taste and very delicious.

UPDATE: July 31, 2024.
I am happy that you responded. Your REPLY is inaccurate. I was NOT rude and this is a total fabrication to the truth.
Now I understand why I witnessed what I witnessed. MAYBE the "HEALTH" department should make a visit to this place because it also was not very CLEAN.
You have stated that you waited on me immediately. NOT TRUE! I waited for my food for over 25 minutes and (this was no issue) until I get home and find that the Noodles are not cooked all the way and the Beef was very limited to the portion of nearly $18.00 for a meal. PLEASE understand it was so obvious that you should not have been taking orders because you were short on staff and what also appeared that you had no COOK this day. TERRIBLE! SIMPLY UNCLEAN AND IRRESPONSIBLE.
ATTENTION OWNER.
I CAME TO YOUR ESTABLISHMENT ON SUNDAY JULY 28, 2024 AT 6:00 PM. YOU HAD TWO FEMALES WORKING WHO SEEMED VERY BUSY WITH NO HELP.
I HAVE BEEN AT THIS LOCATION BEFORE AND ORDERED SHRIMP FIRED RICE. THIS TIME I ORDERED BEEF LO MEIN. I AM SO DISAPOINTED. THERE WAS HARDLY ANY BEEF AND THE NOODLES WERE "NOT" COOKED ALL THE WAY. FOR ALMOST $18.00 YOU COULD HABVE DONE BETTTER.

I had been a faithful customer of House of Chan for over 45 years!!! (In the '80 I worked up the street and ate there at least twice a week! I lived in Europe from 1987 to 1997, and still went to HoC whenever I was in Atlanta. Since then I would often eat there. My favorite dish was Dragon Horse Shrimp. A couple of years ago - maybe 2022 +/-, I went there and the dish tasted sweet. I sent it back: something I had never had to do before. It came back the same.. sweetish rather than savory. I visited about 3 times after that before I finally gave up lamenting I lost my favorite Chinese restaurant!
Periodically, I'd try other Chinese restaurants but none ever measured up to my memories of House of Chan. Several months ago the thought came to me to order "with no sugar!" And that seemed to solve my problem! I thought I was back in.
Unfortunately, today I suggested to a friend that we go eat at House of Chan. I once again ordered Dragon Horse Shrimp - " with no sugar"! What came out was like nothing I had ever eaten there before! It was totally disgusting! Looked and tasted like they had some kind of soupy gravy on it. It looks beautiful, but it tasted disgusting, and it actually tasted like gravy! I even questioned the waitress about how they had prepared it. I couldn't eat! Then I thought to order a different shrimp dish until I was told it was made with the same sauce. I have no idea who was in the kitchen! Finally I ordered some hot and sour soup, which was edible at least, even if not great. And I ordered some potstickers. The pot stickers looked pretty, But it was like they were uncooked and very doughy. I've never had a pot sticker like it in my life. I did bring them home with me, and will try to refry them to see if I can at least get them cooked through. I even questioned the waitress about if they used pre-made sauces or things. Finally I asked if the chef was Chinese even, and I was told he was.
Another thing I noticed as I was walking into House of Chan today is that they had some old ply board made into some type of door that was painted over. And then they had some handmade sign saying to pull the front door to open it. Both signs look like they were from a third world country. I have traveled internationally quite a bit. Did someone come and buy this wonderful restaurant with a steadfast and loyal clientele, and then change the recipes that Mrs. Chan had so lovingly and professionally crafted? Have they brought the class of a third world country and tried to transform this establishment to what they knew before?
PLEASE, new ownership, please return to what worked, what was successful, and what was delicious! It was so bad today and so unlike what it had been before, that I thought that maybe it had even been sold a second time more recently. Get a chef who knows what they're doing and who knows how to cook. Truly this was so far from what it had once been!
(I was encouraged in reading more recent reviews, that the new ownership had responded. Maybe there's some hope???? If so, please let me know, because I don't think I could chance it again.)

Eat here for lunch on a weekday. Luncheon specials were reasonably priced, tasty, and served quickly enough for my group's needs. On the latter, it was not fast food fast, we weren't expecting that. FYI to folks needing a meal they can ear and get back to work in a half hour unless you order ahead and take out. I would eat here again without hesitation.
