Minato Japanese Restaurant

Went for lunch with my brother from CA, who is a longtime sushi connoisseur. My appetizers were fine, small salad, miso soup, wakame salad. However, instead of ordering sushi, I made the mistake of ordering their teriyaki salmon. When it arrived, I was surprised, as it was the strangest looking piece of salmon I've ever seen. It looked like sliver-ish hot dog, a tightly wound cylinder! And worst of all, it was way overcooked, tough, and practically inedible. I almost can't believe they would serve something so unappetizing and obviously over-cooked.

I should've sent it back, but for some reason, held back, and tried to eat at least some of it, which was a mistake. It was truly horrible, pretty much the worst I've ever had. My brother had a couple different sushi platters, which he said were just OK.

So all in all, a very disappointing meal, we had much higher hopes.

I’ve been coming to Minato for over 20 years. Great quality food and an amazing value. Big pieces of fresh sashimi or nigiri and very tasty rolls. It’s our family’s favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. Thank you for providing such great food and service over the past two decades!

Overall an excellent experience!

One of the best sushi restaurants in the state! Everything tastes great, and the family who own and run it take great pride in the service and quality. The ginger dressing is hand made every day. Ask for the KC roll or the caterpillar roll, or just have the sushi lunch.
