Takano Japanese ramen sushi

The food was great and our server was very nice, attentive, and the service was very quick! Came back for seconds! Their sushi rolls are VERY good! As well as everything else. All in all it was around $80.

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and I accidentally ordered eel sushi thinking it was eel sauce come to find out it was eel meat raw barely cooked it looked horrible they told me I couldn’t trade it for something else and the food was untouched that ruined my whole Saturday never coming back don’t recommend the chef said it’s not his fault rude and wrong.

If you love sushi AND udon and ramen noodles this is your place! The presentation on the sushi and ramen is a visual treat before your taste buds thank you too!!! There isn't a hibachi grill, but you can bring your larger party and they can put tables together for you. Make reservations for large parties or come early. They get packed on the weekends. The staff is super friendly. I have seen them hug their customers! Hehe. It is a family restaurant with fancy delicious Japanese food. They remember you and smile when you come back!!! They have a wide range of fun sushi roll options named after local places like Decatur, I-285 and Stone Mountain!

Sadly this used to be a great place for sushi and sashimi. As of 08/20/2025; no more.
Uninformed staff. Little knowledge of menu.
Their go to line:
“No can do.”
Ordered a beer which I never touched.
When I asked about ingredients of a sashimi and sushi combo, “No can do.”
First time I walked out of a restaurant in a longgg time.

The food was okay. Typical strip mall sushi. But some of the things were described wrong on the menu, and they brought out both my appetizer and the soup and salad only with my meal, even though they brought my companions' soup and salad right away.

First time trying Takano for dinner and it was pretty good.
The service was fast and efficient even though there was just one server for the entire restaurant. It was also pretty busy for a Wednesday night.

Lets get into the food…
For appetizers we ordered the shrimp tempura which was very light and crispy. We also ordered the gyoza which was pretty typical to other places we have tried, but what set them apart was how appetizing they looked. Taste was pretty standard.

We also ordered 2 rolls, the land and sea roll (shrimp, asparagus, and wagyu) this roll was really tasty. The spider roll was good as well but pretty much what you would expect from a spider roll.

Lastly we shared the chicken teriyaki and tempura combo bento. This is where I was a bit thrown off because the chicken was stir fried with onions and peppers. I wasn’t expecting that, but it had a good flavor. It came with miso soup and a salad with ginger dressing.

Overall it was a good experience and a good meal.

Great Service and friendly and clean. Not sure why the name changed, but the food definitely did. I get the same thing at every sushi place including the old sushi avenue. But the quality is different. I added some other sushi place; same item to give reference; Other places were cheaper/equal in price but gave better cuts and impressive quality.
You don't have to be in midtown or ATL to get good sushi, but plz don't give me your leftovers at the prices you are charging. I will be back when you return to quality cuts and better cuts of raw food bc unequal .25cm cuts IS for sushi rolls, Not an ideal cut for chirashi don. I did wait for it for a good 42min, not worth the wait.
I paid for it, but I will wait for the new place to get it together.

Love it but PLEASE add this store to ubereats, you will get much more traffic and customers. I probably wouldve gotten this 100x more if it was on uber eats,

Don’t usually leave reviews but my girlfriend and I always come here and it’s constantly the best sushi and ramen around, and very good prices. I couldn’t recommend enough.

Best bang for your buck in my opinion. I am partial though because I really don't like to go that far for a meal and it's local for me but all in all excellent food for a reasonable price and excellent service. 4.8 stars for me.
