We stopped here because we were in the area. For starters, there’s no prices listed. Not a single menu in sight. Secondly, she asked if we wanted extra gravy. Should’ve known it was to cover the “oldness” of the rice. Oxtails, cabbage, rice & peas all taste very old. $26 for a small plate. Including the plantains. They should cook lesser food to make enough for a fresh batch the next day. Will not recommend. We asked for an empty plate, the cashier stated “I’ll have to charge you for a plate.” Check ya attitude. Giving a single plate to a paying customer shouldn’t be too hard. Even if it was a small one.

I had the king fish in gravy, rice with beans, cabbage, plantain. The only part of the meal that I liked was the fish. The rice grains were hard, the cabbage too crunchy like they just pour hot water over it instead of actually cooking it and the plantain was like it was cooked the day before then heated up and served the day I went. Needless to say, I won't be back and don't recommend it.

First time coming in, and I decided to order something safe just in case it wasn’t good. I ordered the stew chicken and it was horrible. The chicken taste a little old and it was dry. And the sauce didn’t have any flavor to it. I also got the rice and peas and the rice was hard and old. The plantain tasted old as well and not hot. After reading the other reviews, I wish I would’ve read reviews before I even went. I literally trashed my plate after a few bites.

I ordered jerk chicken with rice. The chicken was burnt and dry with no gravy at all. The rice didn't have any taste. I had to throw everything away. I've had authentic Jamaican food. This isn't it!!! Waste of money!!

First of all, I don't hate this restaurant. I still go there because it's the closest Jamaican spot to me. My husband loves their jerk chicken rice and oxtails. For me, I stopped being a fan of this place when they stopped selling the spicy Mac n cheese. Now it tastes generic in comparison. Service, not bad but not especially great. If they read the comments, make a rice with the jerk sauce that is good for non-meat eaters please. I love spicy so the jerk rice is good, but having to pick out all the chicken is frustrating. So if you could just use the sauce ... idk

Above and beyondWavez is one of my husband’s favorite restaurant. So I decided to have them cater a small (7 person) surprise dinner I had for his birthday. I placed my order and provided a $50 deposit 13 days before the dinner. But when I arrived to the restaurant I was told there was a miscommunication with the chef and I was offered a refund. I let them know that was not an acceptable resolution because I had guest arriving within 1 hour. The owner came out personally to speak with me. After I explained the situation, he worked with me to determine acceptable substitutes for the items that were out of stock - providing more expensive replacement items at the lower cost. He also refunded my deposit to make up for the inconvenience. As always the food was delicious - plantains, cabbage, jerk chicken wings, and jerk turkey wings. Jerk turkey wings are my husband’s favorite and did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, they were every one’s favorite part of the dinner. My brother in law is a cook (BBQ) in south Georgia who doesn’t particularly like turkey and he loved Wavez jerk turkey wings.No one is perfect. Mistakes happen. How we handle those mistakes defines our character. Thank you, Wavez for going above and beyond to make things right.
