I use to love eating here but now it's just a disappointment... Idk if those are new people that own it but they do not cook their food right... The last 2 times iv been the fried rice has been soggy and I got the sweet and sour chicken which use to be good and crunchy but now it's soggy as well... And I paid $3 more for it then when it was better... I feel cheated.. I want to just take my food back up there.. I just wanna cry man I'm so disappointed...

The food was good, but the service was extremely slow considering I called my order in ahead of time. Additionally, the staff was not very friendly either.

Chen's China has been a favorite of mine for years. I expected that once I moved to Portland, I'd find a place I liked more. I did not. Their sesame chicken in particular has only one equal in the dozens of Chinese restaurants I've been to across 5 states.However, I'm taking a star off because in recent weeks they have this annoying tendency to not answer the phone. They have closed the dining room since Covid, which is fine, but they have pushed a call-in model and not adjusted to accommodate the extra phone traffic. Before covid, calling an order in ahead of time wasn't an issue, but as I sit here writing this review I've been trying to call for an hour and 20 minutes. It would have been faster for me to go in and order at the window, despite the business pushing for call-aheads.
