I’m so sad to be leaving this review, but I would happily update it if Stacks does better. No more chicken? No more homemade sweet tea? Who is making these decisions and why take away what makes it different than going anywhere else? Pleeeeeaassssee don’t ruin one of the only good places to eat in this barren land.

First I wanna give props. Stacks makes a great chz burger and the staff is always so friendly. I have been a fan ever since I found out about stacks about 5 years ago. Any time I'm working in the area I'm getting lunch there. It used to be very clean in there but lately it seems the workers stopped caring. Is there health inspections in Effingham? If so they must be blind. As soon as you walk in the first thing you see is a filthy drink fountain. I was there 2 weeks ago and I asked the boy do they ever clean it he says yes. Came back today it looks the same. stickiness and visible black mold. I took one of the nozzles off and pulled a bunch of black mold out with my finger. I showed the guy this but he didn't seem too concerned. Now they got me wondering what the grill and frier looks like?! I kept pressing the issue I said man yall gonna make someone sick this isn't hard to clean. He called the manager to ask what to do I guess. As if you really needed to. Just get some soapy water and sanitizer and clean the dang thing. Is anyone running the place or do yall just turn these kids a loose in there? Kids these days you have to teach them how to give a dam cause they won't. I mean I walked in and they was just standing around talking. That's time they could of been cleaning. I hope the owner sees this and makes the change. If I see it next time (3rd times a charm) I'm just gonna call the health depo myself there is no excuse for that. Hate to see this like I said when I first started eating here everything was on point. What happened?

I got a double cheeseburger and it was fantastic, it had amazing flavor to it and I would 100% get it again! It's been a long time since I've had a burger this good from a restaurant! Just something to note for people who haven't come here before, there's no seating, it's a to-go style of place!

When we moved here three years ago, this place was great. Now? It just isn’t cutting it. The place is dark and everything is just a little bit greasy. We have given it numerous chances to improve and this was the last straw. Black onions? Who eats this? Change your grease! I could have made a better burger at home but you all are there for the convenience. What an inconvenience.

The food is delicious and the guys in there are usually always nice but it is takeout only which is the only reason why the atmosphere scored low.
Be careful walking in on a bright day. The interior is very dark until your eyes can adjust. It's a small room and there's a heavy dark solid-wood bench inside just to the left of the door. Cracked my kneecap when I moved to go behind a customer at the counter. Extreme pain. Had to wait awhile before I could order. Employee seemed unconcerned. Floor is very dark and so is the bench. I'd recommend painting the floor, or the bench, white for some contrast. At least direct a light onto the bench and or get it away from the door. First time there. Tried the single burger. Quiet small but tasty.

I stopped in here on the way home from a road trip. The boiled peanuts were delicious! I did not get to try the burgers, but I shall return. Service was stellar. Place was neat with clean bathrooms. Employees friendly.

Food was fantastic. Chicken tenders were amazing. The three of us were really impressed with the food. It is a little off putting when you enter the establishment. It is not particularly clean. It is the epitome of a greasy spoon. Great food.
