Caribbean Cravings

This is my first time at this establishment. Went for lunch and got a stew chicken plate and also a beef patty. My go-to for new places. My first thought after I went to remove the lid of my bowl was why does my food smell like old tub water?!? But, I still gave it a try smh. Long story short, everything was flavorless and the chicken looks like old leftovers, and with no gravy. I wouldn't eat from from this place again of saving my soul depended on it! Not to mention, he charged me full price instead of the lunch rate, awful!!

I passed up this restaurant a few times thinking about my previous experience with the previous restaurant which was Dutch Pot, and didn’t even realize the name had changed!!!
I tried them out for the first time and tried the Brown Stewed Chicken with peas and rice and it was bussin!!! Rice and peas we’re so well cooked and flavorful. Oh yes, this could very well be my new spot!
If you experienced the bad service and poor food from Dutch Pot, I promise you THIS ain’t THAT!

You have to try the Turkey wings! The food was absolutely delicious and that don’t skimp on the portions. This will definitely be my go to for 🇯🇲 food.

I’ve eaten here many times and today was the first time I said I will never return. Immediately upon walking in my boyfriend and I were greeted with frowns and annoyed stares. I asked was there stew chicken and I got was a “mmph” and shoulder shrug. I ended up ordering the curry chicken because it was all I could see. The lady behind the counter says “cabbage not ready yet” and just looks at me. Says nothing else. I say okay well can I substitute? She just shakes her head no. No smile or anything. I asked if I can just get extra plantains and she nods yes. Ughhh the atmosphere was not welcoming at all! I will never give these people another green dollar.

Tbh I was a bit hesitant to order the reviews seemed hit or miss but I’m grateful it was a great turnout regarding my order. The extra taxes/delivery fee is a little bit discouraging but decided to treat myself for a makeup birthday dinner & it was well worth it. Highly recommend I legit love the servings to price value & that they are open a bit later than expected in NY most everything is open super late & it’s a struggle being a driver never knowing in advance where you’ll be for the night but wheEew they did not disappoint!!! To say the least I will be ordering again when I’m in the area without question!

Service is terrible. Ladies stand there with attitudes and very unprofessional. I have came here twice and the ladies do the same thing. Customer Service is terrible there. Food overpriced

Normally, i spend bday in Miami, but not this year. Bummer! I came in today, on my b- day. First time ever having oxtails. The food is really tasty, a lil kick off heat on the cabbage, and the oxtails were really good!

The Fish was amazing. They forgot my plantain though.

Edit: The issue was corrected quickly. I'm very grateful. Great service. From 3 to 5 stars.

So wanted to give this place a try a couple times prior to leaving a review. Seems to be INCONSISTENT…don’t know if they hv switched up cooks or what, but we prob wont be back. First tried them abt a mt ago— food was good, curry sauce was thick & flavorful and cabbage was tender. Was excited abt the place and shared news w/ hubby. Our 2nd visit, the cabbage was tough but curry chicken and goat was tender (not dry) and sauce flavorful. Went back today, 5/29/25, and their curry chicken was dry, the curry sauce was watered down and cabbage was tough. We’ve been searching for a Jamaican spot (on this side of twn) and thought we found one worth revisiting repeatedly… however, looks like we’ll still be searching…
