The Commons Restaurant

Be sure to call the restaurant before making a reservation, especially during the winter months. I made a reservation, drove 40 minutes to the restaurant, only to find out it closed. The doors were open which makes this even more bizarre. They even had a sign at the hostess station facing the door requesting that we wait to be seated. After waiting a few minutes, I called the restaurant and this is where I learned they're closed on Mondays and during the winter months. Their voicemail says this, so definitely call before you go to be sure they're open. Interestingly enough, they were closed, but they had reservations available on OpenTable. You would think they would close the reservation if they're not open to keep people like us from driving out of the way. Without a doubt, they have logistical issues here!

For years, we looked forward to going to The Commons for Thanksgiving. This year, they will not be having a Thanksgiving Buffet and referred us to Evergreen who is serving breakfast items and a few Thanksgiving items. What a disappointment and loss for our community.

Go to the Commons if you want a nice view and calm environment. Service was great as well but sadly the steak was just ok and the grouper sandwhich was overly dry, a nice special house sauce would have done it justice. Portions are alright but the food could definitely be better for the price.

My husband and my daughter and I went to the Commons for lunch Saturday and had a very wonderful time. We had reserved a table out on the patio through open table. When you eat at the commons you don't just get a meal you get an entire experience! Our table overlooked the lake and we got to enjoy the Fall colors of the trees and even the geese swimming around and flying by! It was so peaceful and relaxing! For lunch my husband and I ordered the hamburger and fries which were massive and delicious and my daughter ordered the salmon with rice that she thoroughly enjoyed! And we topped the whole meal off with a huge piece of chocolate cake and one of their special cocktails! The service was very friendly and prompt with just the right amount of attention! The commons is one of our most favorite places to dine at!

Today our family had lunch to celebrate my son's and my birthday. The atmosphere, food, and the staff, especially our waitress, were excellent. This was the perfect place for our special day, thank you.

I had an amazing time at “The Commons” the restaurant was nice & the views were astonishing. The food was affordable and actually tasted as good as it looked. Plus my plate came out hot. I spent my birthday weekend here and I’m glad I chose this place. My waiter was “Sabrina” and she was a delightful young lady with high energy. I would definitely come back to visit again.

Gosh I really wanted to love the food here - the views are FANTASTIC! Alas, the ribs were dry, the steak was so so & the salmon was overspiced. Management - you should do something to correct the food product at Stone Mountain - look at all the bad reviews. Seems like it would be something you want to change!

Didn’t even know it was on the stone Mountain premises. The views are outstanding and so is the service at the commons. But unfortunately, the restaurant needs a new roof and I got leaked on and it wasn’t even raining. Droplets of water hit me in the arm and I had to move and it was in two different spots right by the window, which has excellent views. They’re sitting outside and it is gorgeous. The waitresses and the folks who work and the restaurant are simply amazing. The food was pretty good. Presentation was gorgeous. Overall, I still give it a 5.
