I started my lunch wanting some BBQ and saw this spot in passing. I should’ve known something was wrong when they did not have any customers at peak lunch time.
I asked for rib tips and was told they were still cooking but they had ribs. Puzzled me a bit. So I ordered a rib plate and a chopped beef plate. I asked what type of beef is in chopped beef and was told brisket.
1. I ate a rib in the store and it was cold. Considering they didn’t have rib tips I assumed this was old meat they cooked yesterday (hopefully)
2. Chopped beef brisket? Why would you butcher brisket like this. It was extremely chewy and had very little smoke flavor.
3. Mac and Cheese was disappointing and looked like it was old.
4. Collards were extremely bitter
5. Baked beans 🤣🤣🤣
6. Potato Salad was amazing
There are ways to cut corners but this was such a disappointment.

Stopped in to grab some lunch before going to Stone Mountain. I would definitely come back. The portions themselves were a little small, but for a lunch they were fine. We ordered the chopped pork sandwich, which was tender and juicy. Ordered the ribs, which were also tender and juicy. The collard greens were good, but the baked beans were off the hook....so good.

First timer. I decided to go with the fish since it was on lunch special. Fried fish was on point hot and crunchy. Thumbs down on cole slaw dry and unseasoned. Corn bread dry and hard. Baked beans were good but cold. Highly disappointed. Then after seeing a grade average of 71-C I understand. I still will give it a second chance to support a black business but I now know what not to get. Please do better. And please let customers know it’s an additional charge to use card.

Food was not cooked all the way through. The Mac & cheese was horrible! Customer service is very friendly I will say but everything else I was highly disappointed about. The beef ribs were pork and barely had meat.

Mr. Ron I like your food is why I drive from Midtown to get it but yesterday’s issues with your staff and especially the young lady that runs the register the majority of the time needs to go. Her attitude is troubling and problematic. I understand anyone having an off day but cursing loudly about issues with the kitchen while customers are inside the establishment and while one of your patrons during that time was a senior old enough to be her great grandmother is sad. Where’s the respect? When there was an issue with my food she became frustrated again but this time with me the customer because she didn’t like that all the things offered to me I didn’t want so it fueled her attitude more to start cursing again and walking off to speak horribly about me and the situation of y’all running out of meat that I paid for. I even had to address her during her rant because enough is enough, saying to her that you do see me standing right here as she discussed to the other employees in rage about my order. How disrespectful and by that time another set of customers came into the establishment. She’s putting on a show. Although I’m the customer being treated terribly as a repeat customer I stay calm because clearly I’m the adult in this situation. She refused to make things right but continued to do all she could by being nasty and rude. All she had to do in that situation was to refund me for my two wings that I paid for. A cook from the back had to come up to the register to try helping me with getting a refund at this point from her blatantly refusing. She wailing her arms saying that I got an attitude with her was a bold face LIE. From the moment I stepped in that place she was doing the most. I spent $65 bucks and gave a $5 tip. Although you don’t give refunds but when you’re at fault for not having the food customers pay for you must provide a refund if customers aren’t interested in additional food or being offered to make it right by giving two additional wings with the two wings that y’all didn’t have that I paid for, oh we’ll make it right like that when you come back next time. That makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. You would rather disrespect customers as you try bullying them to do things your way and lose money instead of refunding a few dollars to end up losing all the money I paid? Bad business. The way I was treated and wasted 40 minutes of my time like that is what prompted me to request a total refund at that point. The disrespect I can’t handle! I asked them repeatedly to get you Mr. Ron but was told you was gone but I found you outside in your pick up truck is why I flagged you down to let you know what had happened and how disgusted I was at your employee. I even had to ask you was she a family member is to why she felt comfortable enough to carry on like that. I appreciate you Mr. Ron for making that part right when it came to my refund but getting rid of that young lady is the only thing I see is right. In all my 42 years I have never seen such disrespect in a restaurant like that. Like I expressed as y’all tried giving me free food. I wasn’t there for that is why I didn’t accept it. I’m never the customer looking for free food!!!! GOOD LUCK BECAUSE PEOPLE OF HER CALIBER WORKING FOR YOU WILL TEAR YOUR BUSINESS DOWN!!!

First time here. Pretty impressed. Had the smoked pork. Good hickory smoked flavor, didn't even need the sauce, but the sauce was on point. The baked beans needed some help. They were room temperature and lacked flavor. The potato salad was really good. We'll be back

I'm from Albany Georgia and I must say this food was awful!!! The okra was fried in fish grease, the Mac and Cheese was leftover and crumbly, baked beans were watery, and the ribs had no smoked taste because they were drowned in BBQ sauce. The cake wasn't worth the price and it was boxed cake

Food (chopped beef sandwich) was not ok but nothing to write home about. The Cole slaw was awful and the Mac n cheese was weird. Not sure what either of them were missing but they weren’t our first choice for sides anyway. Soon as we walked in the door the cashier greeted us and said the fryer was already off for the day and certain specials were already over. So anything that we wanted which required frying, was automatically out. Their food isn’t cheap, and they give a very small portion of the sides. The place isn’t exactly “clean” and there is a bit of clutter/unused equipment around. There is no public restroom, which is a complete bummer especially considering we have a toddler. You never know when they have to go to the bathroom. There are no tables to eat inside and I guess that is why they are not required to have a bathroom available to the public. The service was mediocre. The lady had dark sunglasses on at the front counter while taking our order. We did go late in the day, so maybe they were just over it for the day and it didn’t take too long for the food to be ready. Our 2yr old really enjoyed the chopped beef. I doubt we will be back, they have very hard hours of operation to keep up with and the food is a little pricey for the amount that they give. Plus, it’s not overly delicious or anything. Not a huge menu selection but they did give us a free bag of chips.
