Max is one of the best Jamaican cooks on the East coast! Give that man a raise! He deserves it! Great job Max! 👌🏾

Moved from Stone Mountain to Lawrenceville. I still come from Lawrenceville to come to D&M.. probably the best Jamacian I’ve had in the Atlanta metro area fr. Gonna try their 2nd spot that’s a little closer to me to see if they taste the same.
Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The customer service was unwelcoming—the woman at the register acted as though serving customers was an inconvenience. The restaurant had a strong smell of cigarettes, which was off-putting. As for the food, it tasted old and far from fresh, as if it had been sitting for days. Overall, I would not return and cannot recommend this place to others.

Trust me, the food is always excellent. The only problem/fault I find is their soup...pure black pepper. As a jamaican and a cook myself black pepper is a no no in soup. Country pepper/scotch bonnet pepper..
The Restaurant Atmosphere Was Cold And Unfriendly. The Staff Was Rude, Unprofessional, Hostile, Making Me Wait To Make My Order As She Talked On Her Personal Phone. The Food Did Not Look As Tasty As It Normally Does, And I Was So Frustrated By The Nastiness Of The Two Young Ladies That I Just Paid And Left. The Taste Of The Food Matched The Energy Of The Two Young Ladies With One Piece Of The Jerk Chicken Was 90% Bones.

I drive out of my way to come here and they always have an issue, by midday they’ve run out of food (there phone number isn’t working so I can’t check to see if they have it in) or there payment machine is down. Only cash 😂

Bought 5 meals for approximately $88 to share for the family two weeks ago. Called in the order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes but had to wait another 30 minutes after I got there. We were very disappointed because we could barely eat the food. Four of the five meals were WAY TOO HOT WITH PEPPER!! Needless to say, no one went back for seconds and we had to find something else for the children to eat. L I’ve been going to this place since they opened and the food is good but no man, you haffi tone down di peppa! I have called multiple times to give them feedback and cannot get through on the phone. The one time I was able to get through, I spoke with a young man and asked for the owner/manager and was told they were not there but would give me a call back. I’ve not heard back from anyone yet so decided to use this platform to get my point across and to warn others.I stopped going to Nice Mon restaurant for this reason and will another restaurant and will stop patronizing D&M for this same reason. You all don’t have to worry about me coming back to spend my money here unless the spice level is toned down to a reasonable level. Unu trying to tear up people mouth and stomach?

As a visitor to Atlanta and finding this spot, my group was excited. There was a line, so we had to wait to place our orders. After the orders were taken, it took 10-15 minutes to get them due to some of the side items being prepared when ordered. While waiting, we enjoyed done Jamaican beverages. The Cream soda one is to die for! The kids liked the fruit punch one the best.
J got jerk chicken, cabbage, rice & peas. She said it was good, as she gobbled it down in the back seat. You could smell it, it smelled amazing!
Mandy got an oxtail plate. It was plentiful and the oxtail were huge!
I had a container of plantains. They were big sized chunks and delicious.
If in Atlanta, this place is definitely the one to go to. It's very good & authentic!

I genuinely hope the owner sees this and takes our feedback to heart for improvement. Let me start on a positive note: the food was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were quite generous. I ordered the curry goat, and I loved the delightful kick it had; it was expertly seasoned, and I really enjoyed the accompanying cabbage as well. My partner chose the oxtail, which was equally scrumptious, boasting a rich flavor profile that also had a nice spicy undertone.
However, I must address some concerns that really affected our dining experience. First and foremost, I've never gone to a West Indian restaurant that doesn't serve plantains alongside the main dish. It seems almost absurd; everyone knows that plantains truly elevate the entire meal!
The biggest disappointment, however, came when I took my first bite and encountered a large piece of plastic in my food. This was honestly shocking and unacceptable; I will be adding a photo to illustrate this issue.
As for the atmosphere, it could use some adjustment—specifically, the volume of the music. It was overwhelmingly loud, making it difficult to order. The restaurant’s setup itself was nice, but the noise level detracted from the overall experience.
Finally, regarding the service, I recommend not having a soft-spoken person at the front, especially when the music is blasting like trumpets. It made it challenging to hear and understand the orders. Additionally, it might be beneficial for staff to write down orders, particularly if the young lady at the counter struggles to remember who ordered what, as this could enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
