Yemeni coffee has surged in popularity here in the states as a much-needed alternative to the usual coffee corporations, and I am here for it! Quiet, unassuming yet nearly packed on a weekday morning, the walls of this Cafe tell a story - literally - of the history of coffee, from comforts, ceremonies and community. Mufawar has a very strong cardamom flavor so be prepared! The adeni tea is a milder, sweeter and delicious flavor. The biscoff cheesecake was wonderful!
Love this place! Great food, authentic and 95% made in house. The place was closing and the gentleman still offered to make food that took 15-20 minutes! He took time to explain ingredients and what was in the food and the best choices for my cravings.
Okay I went for the Dubai chocolate, but I will return for the vegan desserts. I was honestly not a fan of the Dubai chocolate, but not because I don’t think they did it well… I just don’t think it’s my vibe. I also got a vegan tiramisu cheesecake and I was genuinely shocked at how good it is. Vegan desserts can be done really well, especially flour based ones… but finding a cheesecake that doesn’t have a weird taste has been difficult. This one was so freaking good....
