The Restaurant

I came here for a social event with some other professionals. The drinks were good. Our waitress (Tam or Tan) was GREAT! I was really excited to learn that this place was open because I used to come to the spot back when it was a different restaurant. The people with me were from all over the metro area but I live in the school district, and thought this might be a good place to have future gatherings and meetings. The food was nice and there is only 1 reason I’m giving 3 stars.We were on the rooftop having a great convo, having ordered a LOT of food and drinks. The manager comes up with an empty bottle of some sort or liquor waving it in the air like a mad woman and starts screaming to the effect of, “Do not bring alcohol in here! We serve alcohol and it’s disrespectful!” Then she stormed off. Lol!This was a group of high achieving black people, having intelligent conversation, who had drinks from the bar on their tables. The age range was 35-55. It was ridiculous! Also, there were some white patrons downstairs. I wonder if she (a black woman) screamed and delivered the same aggressive monologue to them or if she assumed that because we were black people, that we would bring a bottle of liquor into a restaurant.The Parkview cluster is extremely diverse but it appears that the majority of support for this place is coming from black people. However, it also appears that last night, our patronage is not appreciated. The location is in the shopping center where I do my grocery shopping, where I workout, and where I get my nails done. Perfect location for team sports gatherings, PTA parties, employee celebrations, etc. Unfortunately, things got very strange and I wouldn’t want to invite any group in here.Lastly, in the restroom, I guess they ran out of soap. Instead of putting a new bottle out, someone filled it with water.Update: The owner decided to respond (see below). The other patrons were sitting outside but rather than take responsibility for her lack of emotional intelligence last night, she gave a feeble attempt at a clap back. It’s sad and resembles something like being on the verge of a psychotic break. You expect people to support your foolishness just because they’re the same race?

Let me start by saying Tam is excellent! She’s an asset to this business. My husband and I came in on a Friday night for the first time. The bartender was also great. Appetizer and food was very good. Music was playing when we came in but a little while later a DJ took it to the next level, then the live band! We couldn’t leave! Thanks to the owner stopping by, just an enjoyable evening.

It was our first visit and it didn’t disappoint! The food and appetizers were delicious and our waitress “the new Jess” was great and very attentive!! We will be back for sure :-)

The food is EXCELLENT, the ambiance is wonderful, and the live band is supreme!!! Y’all need to come support this beautiful establishment. The customer service is wonderful.... come let my girl Tam serve you. She is sooo professional and so are the other servers!

We dropped by for a late dinner and we're very pleased with our experience! I had the pork chop with collards and mash and it was excellent. The breading on the pork chop was fantastic and the greens were worthy of a return visit just by themselves. My wife had the beef tacos and she said they were great as well.I ordered a margarita and she had a lemon drop, both were good.The banana pudding... Dang.This food is soul food.The house band wasn't too loud or soft and added tremendously to the atmosphere of the restaurant.We will be going back. I have to try the lamb chop...

My husband and I dropped into this gem for the first time and sat at the bar. Our bartender, Pretty, made our experience extremely special. We talked and laughed with her and enjoyed great drinks. We tried the shrimp and fish tacos and the salmon plate. Everything was really good. We will definitely be back in the very near future.

My friend and I were excited to check this place out. When we saw that they just opened and the decor was super cute! What a major disappointment! The service was a complete, vibe killer. We arrived a bit after 6. It was barely anyone there. So, when we kept receiving the im so sorry we’re really backed up.. how and where?! Then drinks… came out not even mixed. Was told to stir it up real good and nothing but a series of watered down juice. Spinach dip was, queso dip n chips you get from the movie theater with bits of spinach$15. Whiting meal was a joke one piece of over battered split open bone in fish, two tablespoons of over cooked and drowned in sugar yams, greens were, a can of glory greens with extra salt $17. I don’t mind paying for good food but this was just sad. Even the lemonade was weird like an off brand of country time with a hint of lemon pleader???? Took forever to get the check.. so bad we could have walked out and probably wouldn’t have noticed. Had to raise my hand like I’m in school, then finally a mgr whom was handling another complaint came over. Needs a new menu and staff because the spot is cute and in a great location.

The Social is an excellent spot to gather for Food, Fun, and Fellowship. Chief Royce Turner and Naudia was excellent Hosts. He gave a round on the house for my table. The ambiance was awesome. The live band was excellent! This is definitely a place for Grown Folk to enjoy without Knuckleheadz. Dekalb County was present as well. Yes, Security was on point. I had Tilapia, Collard Greens, and Yams. I think Derrick was the new Chef on Deck. Compliments to the Chef! I thought I was tasting my Grandma's Greens.... Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Lastly, Overall the Social exceeded my expectations. What did Arnold Schwarzenegger say in the Terminator Movie??

My wife and I had seen reviews and were anxious to try a new local restaurant. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent as was the service. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly and welcoming. The food came out quickly, was hot and fresh and tasted delicious. Before we left the chef came out to ask how everything was. Everything was beyond expectations, and we will definitely be back again soon.

We went for a late lunch. We realize servers are hard to find and are most understanding.When we entered the hostess/server had sprayed praline room fragrance/not conducive to eating.My salmon came out with potatoes green beans… warm.. salmon fishy taste and smell.I kepttasting because I was hungry and finally lost my appetite with combined praline smell and fishy smell. I quit eating and had tried to get servers attention.After 10 minutes the bartender filled our water and got my server.The chef came out and I explained.. he told me I was incorrect in my taste.The owner came out and challenged my complaint and advised me that I had been videotaped and recorded since I entered and I had been complimentary about the fragrance.This bothers me more than my food being subpar.We eat out on a regular basis , fine dining all over Atlanta. I have never had an experience like this.We paid our bill and left never to return.I was so looking forward to this experience because it’s in my neighborhood.

First time coming here is lunch on a Thursday. It wasn't very busy. I love the decor and set up. The lunch menu is very reasonable, about $10-20. I got the salmon and it was so good! The owner was telling me about karaoke night and live jazz night. I would love to return for those.

Just left this place. My sister, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our hostess Ashley was great! The decor is so cool! The food was delicious!Shrimp and Grits, Salmon bites, Boom Boom Shrimp, the Tilapia dinner and Collard Greens all tasted great! My Rum punch was on point! We will be back!

I planned a 50th birthday party for my husband at the Social House Restaurant! It did not disappoint!! . From the first time I met the owner, she made planning so effortless! The day of the event, everything was WONDERFUL! The food, drinks, and music! The service was great! Shae, Brittany, and Ashley were awesome! Our guests enjoyed themselves and we can't wait to come back!

I just saw the 2 star rating WHICH IS SO UNFAIR to this business that's why our restaurants are having a hard time with employees. Why come on here and bash a business owner and their struggling.Evedy visit here their service was AMAZING & FOOD was delicious. If I was given.a free party I would be GRATEFUL that in this day and time they were able to accommodate

I love this restaurant, they have excellent live music and great food and great service. It's amazing. My wife had the fried salmon bites and I had the wing's and seafood eggrolls. Very laid back and relaxing atmosphere. Must go to check it out. Rare to find a place with great food and music.
