Undrinkable beer. As a homebrewer, I recognize bacterial infection. These guys have a bacterial infection somewhere.

Stopped in excited that they had a dunkel and hefeweizen on the menu. They were both "flat", less than average flavor and things only went downhill from there. Sampled the kolsch, pilsner and lager and they were awful, like really bad. Maybe something was wrong with the lines or the draft contraptions but this was my first time spitting a beer back into the glass. We paid and left our half full dunkel and hefe (closer to a wit in my opinion) and left. Maybe their spirits are better but I cannot recommend their beers.

I don't post review often or lightly. Sugar Hill Distillery is my families #1 go to. Amazing German food, from the Giant Pretzels to the schnitzel and brats you simply cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Which would be enough to keep us coming back, but the staff, atmosphere, biergarten, and of course the beers and spirits (you have to try the Dunkel and bourbon, all cocktails with fruit are with fresh fruit, something for everyone, a must try.....

Very solid brewery! Had a Hefeweizen, hazy IPA, and kölsch (not pictured) while I was here. The kölsch being my favorite. The beer is solid to tasty, but nothing stood out to be 5-stars. I also ordered the German spaghetti, which was great. The only downside was that a few bites were cold; not sure if that’s due to the staff bringing it out late or what, but outside of that I really enjoyed my meal. A giant pretzel was $12 and this was $15 so I figured might as well go all in with the carbs. The vibe is a bit of a mix between a brewery and bar one, but a solid mojo overall. I believe there’s only one TV in the joint and it was showing a ‘Chive TV’ alternative the entire time. The guy behind the bar was very attentive and was on point so shoutout to him.

Some of the worst beer I’ve ever had. My wife got a blood orange sour and the bartender squirted blood orange syrup into a sour beer. I have never seen this before. When we asked the bartender what the reason for this was, she said it allows us to have 4 choices of sours. $13 for a beer each that we both poured out. This place is bad!

We went here for the 1st time on Valentine's Day and had the place entirely to ourselves for dinner. The beer and the food were both excellent and although I don't remember her name our server was very friendly and welcoming. We're definitely going back soon.

Unique and lots of fun! Waitstaff, environment, and food were all spot on!

Keri and JD have created a masterpiece of a restaurant. Whenever we gather at the Distillery as a community we are welcomed, treated well, enjoy laughter with the staff - and eat amazing food.

One of our favorite places to eat. Great food and good prices.

Tasty rotating beer selection and giant pretzels!

The draft beer tasted good, but my rice was too soft. There is no music today, so the atmosphere is a bit worse.

Stopped at another craft brewery on our way home from North East Georgia. Sugar Hill is nice stop over just before you really get into North East Metro Atlanta proper where I-85 and I-985 merge and it just happens to have two craft breweries. We only had time for one and I wanted to try a brewery with a focus on German style beers as well as German food. This is a beautiful location and not only do they brew beer, but they also are a distillery with a pretty decent Rye Whiskey (the only spirit I sampled). They have eight beers on tap, so we sampled all eight in two flights. Wife wasn't really that hungry and so we settled on just trying side dishes of pan fried red potatoes, German style potato salad (a favorite of mine since childhood) and a single knockwurst (or knackwurst, if you prefer), along with a small order of their beer cheese. All the food was delicious, and the beer a cut above average. Well worth the stop if you're in the area.
