The food was phenomenal! My first time there they did not have all of their tamale offerings, but it was so good that I will need to go back!

As a customer, this experience is unacceptable and inhumane. The temperature inside this restaurant is freezing, well below normal conditions. It is impossible to enjoy a meal when the dining area feels like it’s below zero.

What is even more alarming is seeing employees forced to work in these conditions, reportedly at temperatures around –8 to –10 degrees, without proper heating. This is not only uncomfortable, but dangerous for both workers and customers.

This situation has clearly gone out of control. I strongly urge the owners and management to take immediate action and fix the heating system. If this issue is not resolved, it will be reported to OSHA for unsafe working conditions.

No business should operate this way. Basic human safety and dignity must come first.

I eat here so often that it's borderline embarrassing. Seriously, I crave their amazingly cheap taco plate at least once a week for under $12.

They also serve breakfast all day.
Large portions for the price and always consistently cooked.

There is always a place to sit and it's cozy, open, and bright. Super clean for the amount of customers and families visiting.

You will always see families here and their food is pure comfort.

Nice little tamale house. The tamales are excellent and the restaurant is just right if you want to dine in. Nothing fancy but well executed. My go to tamale place for take out.

I had a terrible experience at Mixteca today. I ordered 2 Gorditas with no avocado, tomato, or lettuce. When I received my order it had avocado on it. I kindly asked told the server that I ordered them without Avocado and it even said it on my receipt. She told her eyes, didn’t respond, and took it back. One minute later she came back with two gorditas that had avocado finger prints on top of them and the meat had avocado all over them. I kindly told her once again that I ordered them without avocado and they still had avocado all over them. She rolled her eyes, made a very unpleasant face, and took them back. When she took it back I could see all the workers at the counter looking at me making mean faces. One even said “oh my god we already took it off.” The sever came back angry and told me they would remake them but it was going to take a long time. When they brought me my plate the server just threw it on the table and walked away. I was very concerned when my plate came with avocado because I am very allergic to avocado. Avocado makes me break out into hives and makes my throat well up. It saddened me to see how adults the staff acted not knowing that they could’ve sent me to the hospital due to their lack of concern. I am saddened with this experience as I was looking forward to trying this restaurant for days! I won’t be coming back after this awful experience with such terrible service.

I had not visited La Mixteca in years, we went to eat brunch after my sons football game, I had a sope de lengua, which was very tender and tasty, my hubby had the green chilaquiles which were amazing! Food was awesome and our cashier was very sweet !
