We’ve lived close to the Backwoods Steakhouse for years and have heard wonderful reviews, so we made a visit. It surpassed our expectations!! We loved the view from the rear seating and saw Goats, Emu’s, and Highlands enjoying their day against a beautiful farm backdrop. The service and food were TOP NOTCH! I’m not even exaggerating to say it was the best steak I’ve ever eaten. We’ve already made a second visit and it was equally impressive. It’s a new favorite date night locale for us. Highly recommended.

We went in for a family dinner. The food was good but the owners wife kept giving us dirty looks so it made the whole night less than what we had ever expected. Not to mention there was an underage girl that was all over the restaurant and always at our table (there daughter). Then after we left it was brought to my attention that the owners wife had said something to one of the other people in our party. Saying that I was cussing while talking to the people in our party (she was told by the child that would not leave our table and wasn't there with us). She did tell him that I didn't have to go back there. But I will never go back to this restaurant again and I always try keep our money local and support small businesses

Dropped in this afternoon as they opened up. They are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. If you can get there early. Seem to get busy. Well worth the drive and time it takes to get there. The food was excellent. The server was very good and the atmosphere was great. Will certainly be going here again. Also please remember, the DO NOT ACCEPT credit or debit cards. Cash or check only.
Parking: Parking is not a problem, parking lot is gravel.

Love this place but first time back, steak was horrible. Couldn't even cut it much less eat it. Told manager and they acknowledged they had ordered from another supplier and she wouldn't make that mistake again. That makes me try it again

This is definitely not the same quality spot it used to be. We drove an hour and a half one way to be totally disappointed. One steak came out (ordered medium) that was rare on one end and burnt on the other end. One steak came out (ordered medium rare) it was cold blue rare. We sent it back to be reheated and it came back with a hair on the plate. One of the butter containers had a hair on the top of the butter. The Salmon was as dry as cracker juice. When we checked out the owner’s wife asked if everything was ok, when I explained the issues she offered an “I’m so sorry” and took 10% off. Most definitely not how am adequate manager should handle such an issue! I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I’LL NOT BE BACK!!!!!
EDIT: This place has a Facebook page. I went on there and commented on their post for the day that I was totally disappointed. When I went back to check and see if they had responded to my comment, I couldn’t find the page. I logged into my undercover account just to find that they had not only deleted the post and reposted a new daily post, but that I had in fact been blocked by the administrator. I’m sorry, this is NOT how you run a business.

I've never had a filet mignon so tastles, rubbery and tough. All three people at our table said the extact same thing. They were all overcooked. The service was fantastic.
