Okay, I was stumped on how to rate the atmosphere, but decided to give it a 5 because it is what it is. It's a rural fish place, not a fancy upscale city restaurant. The food came out hot and delicious. The hush puppies are light on the inside and crispy on the outside. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last! We are glad to find this hidden gem.
Although Herbs offers many options, I usually order Catfish strips, cheese grits and fries. The portions are generous, service comes with a smile and you see rooms full of smiling faces. To top it all off you usually get to see Jason with his git it done attitude. Cash or credit card only. No cards. I forgot one time and Bruce Bazemore didn't sleep for 3 days after having to pay for my meal. 🤣
Excellent whole fried catfish with the trimmings. The fish are fried crispy with slaw and grits properly seasoned. An out of the way place that is definitely worth the drive and returning to.
